I'm not going to blast you as some have done and accuse you of trolling. I'll offer my opinion after 3 months of driving mine.

The brakes do squeak but very rarely. Maybe 5 times I've heard them after 6,025 miles.

It can get loud with the windows down when driving on the interstate. My solution is to roll them up or turn my music up. Generally I roll them up so I can still hear the beautiful sound of the 6.2L & Borla exhaust.

These tires have GREAT grip to them and yes they are soft but if you aren't happy with them, do as I am when they wear down. I've smoked them twice and I put them through a test whenever possible and I'm happy with them for a stock tire. No one said you have to replace them with the same tire. Get a different brand. Nitto 555Rs.

Bottom line is that nothing in life is perfect. If there is no bad then there would be no good. This is a great car and GM hit it out of the park with the design. The curves and lines on this car are a thing of beauty.

Did I buy it for attention? No. Do I get attention like I'm a rock star. Most definitely. I bought this car purely for my love of Camaros and I was thrilled they finally decided to produce them again. I was going to buy a Vette before I heard they were officially coming out with the 5TH GEN. Going with the Maro was the right thing to do IMHO. Do what your gut tells you to. If you drive this car once and don't like it then it isn't for you. Good luck in your endeavors.

Ok,Ok,Ok I've found the error of my ways. I just read the most disconcerting thing. On a mustang forum, an owner just dropped a magnusson on his 05-09 GT. He's now pushing a whopping...you ready...347rwhp. Granted the weight difference, but Seriously?

It's SS all the way.
Error of your ways? Are you serious? Just like that? And why do you seem so surprised by 347 REAR WHEEL HP? That's pretty good for a GT that rates 300 hp at the crank.

You do know that is MORE than the SS auto (the L99 is a whopping...you ready... 335 RWHP) and only a little less than a manual SS right? (about 355 RWHP)? Do some more homework.

Wow, you sure rolled over quick - five hours.

I did too, got em all fixed, waiting for the next one. Ahh, got a scratch on the rear bumper that needs to be polished out.

No car is perfect, regardless of what its owner may think. As I've said before, I'm a muscle car lover, always have been. I don't have an obsession with putting down anything that's not "my car." Unfortunately car forums always have its share of "that special bunch" who see the world through a tube, have insecurities about their car and feel the need to fit in so they bash others' cars. They are, what's my daughter call them? Posers. Spent a lot of money on their first muscle car and now they have to justify it. And I'm not just referring to Camaro owners, but the owners of any other car made. It's too bad. Just look at some of the posts on this thread - not friendly banter, they're downright mean.

Wow, easy to throw in the towel. Tires? Seriously. You wouldnt want the mustang then either. I just got rid of a 500RWH supercharged completely build custom 2005.
I had many issues related the same. Its a performance car, you can always get better parts after the first initial one are gone. Had to go thru it on the mustang, just saying not much is going to change there.

If you really want the car you are not going to care about any flaws.

if you genuinely aren't feeling "it", don't buy it. stick to whatever you know already works.

2001 ragtop, is that your car in your avatar? What is it, can't quite make it out other than "SS". Got any bigger pics? I'd sure like to see them...

Tires yes I agree and plan on getting an all season then just use my PZero's till they wear out. With the 1100 miles I have put on her I have no regrets on my descision on getting my car. To me Camaro's are the best I wouldn't own anything else.

Love it Love it Love it..

You make it quite obvious of what little knowledge you have of women.

Seriously? What kind of women do you tend to attract? Yes, the car is sexy. but most women dont give a rats behind about a "car" We women that do, are classier than to date a guy because he has a "hot car" Nothing beats a guy that thinks he has a clue,, when he truly does not

Buy the car, brake pads and tires can be replaced to what you want. If the tires have low miles on them, I am sure you can unload them on this site. Heck, I would consider buying them myself.

Personally you will not regret it, or least I can say that from experience. I considered both but the Camaro tripped my trigger.......and will never look back...unless of course to see who I left behind...

Better not plan on returning it to GM. If you read the fine print you will see that the program ends on 11-30-09. I see yuo take delivery in Dec. If you do take delivery in Nov. , Make sure to read the link above as it will cost you some $. You have to license it and keep it a minimum of 31 days.

Hope this helps with the decision, I was hoping mine would be here before Dec. but only so I could take the $500 rebate instead of the 60 day return. My 2ss rs comes in mid Dec. and I'll still be happy to pay the $42000

Boo Hoo I dont wanna have to buy tires every year. come on dude give me a break. How about a little cheese with that wine. I have never heard so many lame excuses in my life. The only time I heard my windows whistling was on a straight away at 151mph. You dont deserve a car that's this Bad Ass. Maybe the truth is you have buyers remorse because you really cant afford it and your not good at making buying decisions. Duh you have a mustang need I say more. Keep your POS Mustang.
