The problem here is that look at all of the things that ford is throwing out at that V6... how much is this V6 going to be?? $28k??

Seriously? I doubt it,...let's see how much weight the GT gains first. At most, if Ford can actually produce a 400 hp engine to meet the Camaro half way, I think it'll be a drivers race, not domination. Currently, the Camaro(v8) dominates every mustang under a GT500, but if they get 400 hp in 2011, it's a drivers race; and that's considering if you didn't add any mods to your car.

By 2011, I'll have a new exhaust, headers, CAI, and carbon fiber....lol, the new mustang won't be any competition for me.

I think Chevy has Ford price wise......you can get an SS for 32,000 out the door, how much more will the new 2011 Mustang GT be? I willing to bet it'll jump past the 34,000 mark and get close to 40. So on the street you may encounter mostly v6 mustangs....and occasionally, a v8. SS owners, must we forget, everyone is not riding big! lol

I agree that if the Mustang gets a 400+hp engine that the weight is going to be a lot closer to the camaro.

You know if GM made the camaro's exhaust better they could jump past 304hp and beat the mustang! make way for 306hp and start another war lol.

Just look at what they're current 2010 Gts weigh 3,572....the 2011 v6s weigh 100 pounds or so less, so I think when the GT hits it's going to top out at about the Camaro's weight. But the Camaro would have hp on it's side,...still perhaps a drivers race.

Yup. I think the thing to look at is how much torque this V8 will have because no doubt the mustang has some nice torque but it should have a lot more because you know the car is going to be heavier.

so you're saying that the mustang GT should gain more weight over the V6 then the SS did over the LS and LT? I just don't see it.
