Oh yeah, this is Camaro5.
hahaha

and ss, aside from the price difference (600 for a few simple bolt ons vs 6k for a new motor) there would be more weight from the bigger motor as well, i mean the weight balance would be like 40-60 (i'm exaggerating i don't know exactly) on a fwd car. It might not be as fast as that as you think, because with a bigger motor you will give up some weight and aero. I'm just saying its the power to weight ratio, more so then the aero/gearing ect. I'm saying similar to what you are, just with a few differences going against it (for arguments sake haha)

If not for the cost and the way I was treated at a Dodge dealership, I might be in one now.

Nothing, but it stemmed from discussing the capabilities of a 5.0L vs a 6.2L, and how each would respond to mods. That ultimately lead to what could produce the most possible power. Thats somewhat on topic, though still a significant drift off course. A V8 Cobalt ... I can't stretch that one to fit. I know how we got there, but I can't say its terribly relevant.

Oh, and to answer your earlier question it was a 4.0L (V8 from M3) vs a 6.2L (LS3).

I still don't like the rear ends on the 2010s+, but that interior is nice. You gotta admit that.
..didn't say anything about the interior, but you are correct

But ain't it so much fun.

It gets boring after a while. And when people try and change it up by comparing the Camaro to something else (like ... the Toyota Pious), it goes back to the "why would you ever compare the Camaro to the ____ ?" style and becomes just as boring just as fast. Every now and then there is an interesting one. But overall its somewhat predictable.

Yeah, I hope Fiat can figure something out for the Chally. The new V6 pentastar should bring it inline with the mustang/camaro engine wise. But it won't matter if they can't put the chally on a huge diet.

If it's true that the Coyote is DI, it may actually be quite a while before you see a lot of effective mods. The computer can make the DI spit out more fuel to some extent, but you can't just put on bigger injectors as you increase the air like you can in old school injection systems. Sure you'll be able to do some basic mods, but I think it may be difficult to go to a forced induction system for quite some time. That's before you get into how much the internals can take.

Ya that's sort of speculation, but it's speculation based on other DI systems.

Coyote = No DI

Yes no DI for it. I basically think basic bolts on will be available early. I mean you have to think that most of the major players, KB,ATI, Paxton, Ede already have a block sitting on a stand in there shop. Make em sign a hush hush agreement and there ya go.

The chassis is not going to change so your down to placement. A few other details here and there and you are ready to go. Heh its the V6 world though that is going to implode with mods...interesting times coming indeed.

Exactly. I think they are saying the Pentastar engine will have ~280hp. But the Challenger is still a 4,000lb car.

Yeah, and I assume that'll go up when the add direct injection to it, but it's still a 4k lb car. I suppose I shouldn't complain though, my car is almost 3900 lbs and I only have 256 HP.

We'll probably have to wait until 2012 for the redesigns of the LX cars to see any real weight reduction...
