Sorry, I decided to ressurect this thread...he's at it again!
Latest update : Supra's are known for their 1000hp.

Me: "Only if you spend three times as much as the car to make those horses, besides who needs them"
Him: (kid you not) "yeah, well stupid Camaro lover, Camaro's can't turn."
Me: "hey, have you ever heard of the hugger?"
Him: "no"
Me: "know what it means, it means that the car 'hugs' the road, that's how well it handles and turns. okay?"
Him:"Sure, makes sense"
Me: "okay, Hugger was the Camaro's nickname in the 60's and 70's! It's now 2007 and your gonna tell me that Camaro's - especially this one - won't be able to turn?!?!"
Him: "yeah, right..."
Me: @*&!^@&$^)!&@$^&@!@%$!!!!!
Him: "Then how come the Camaro's went out of selling?"
Me: "same reason the firebirds died, because nobody wanted all that power anymore, and the Mustang was cheaper-ish to keep making"
him: "Firebirds, those were good cars, I guess. Beat the Camaros up!"

At this point I was about to both die, and slap him for his ignorance at the same time. I walked away amidst "yeah, that's right, walk away"

I think its funny how some people hear a couple "facts" about a car they like and they think they are gods of knowledge about that car and that anything going against their opinion is blasphemy. its times like that where I enjoy taking my car and telling them to put their money where their mouth is... only to have them tell me..."well, i dont have one of those cars, but if I did, it would woop yours up and down the street"

:oWell, sounds corny - but thats how I got my name. People say I can see everything, you know "I don't miss a beat" - I just don't want to be caught of guard. And I can be pretty tempramental - get angry easily - but I keep it under control.
Hence : Dragon-eye.
I'm really suprised I didn't smack him up one side and down the other.

My Supra (single-turbo) versus a 2001 Z06.

I lost.

wasn't much of a go... looks like the Z06 was ahead of you to start, plus from what I can tell, he shot off, then you. there was no signal that I could see that would start the "race of 50yds" lol I think the Z06 needs a driver mod. lol

Hehe. The video run wasn't planned truthfully, and I wasn't driving my car, my buddy was, so even if it were it wouldn't have been fair. We had run plenty of times before and after, his car has run a 12.1 in the 1/4, but the majority of his mods are for racing at VIR (long roadtrack here in Virginia) and autocross. He's stiffened the chassis, suspension, etc...all very tastefully and correct.

The point is, the only time my Supra ever matched him was when we did a rolling start when I was at the top of 3rd gear, so I instantly built up boost...so instantly that I spiked around 25 PSI, so when I shifted I actually popped the charge pipng off the turbo, which caused the car to flood and stall out at 70-ish MPH....which also scared the bejesus out of me, I thought I blew the engine when I saw the controller's recorded max-pressure.

Yeah....no way 25 PSI is blowing that engine, but I was kinda paranoid with my 9 year old $25k car.

my first car was a 78 Camaro LT with a 292 straight-6 and A4 (replaced with an M3). there was a kid who's parents bought him an Eagle Talon with 19" rims, stock brakes, built engine and whatnot. he'd brag all day about how his parents payed $$$$$$ for it and he did all the mechanical work on it. then he proceeded to do a burnout in the parking lot (gravel lot) and threw rocks all over my car...i let it go, cus the paint was shit anyway, but then he took my spot in the lot (something you dont do) well, on our lunch break one day while he was braggin about how much hp he had, I proceeded to show him how much torque my Maro had. I hooked my tow chain to his rear end and to the ball hitch on mine and pulled him to the far end of the parking lot W/O spinning the tires... till I threw rocks back at his car. he called his mommy and daddy and they called the cops. the cops came and just laughed when I told them what I did and told the kid not to park in my spot anymore...

The Supra was definitely NOT my first car! My first truck was a hand-me-down S10 from my Grandfather (the farm truck), then I bought my very first car with my money...a 1981 Mustang 4 cylinder 4-speed. $500 all the way! I bought the Supra when I was 23, as a single E-5 in the Navy fresh off deployment with too much money to spare from re-enlistment bonus!

Last year, "Hot Rod" magazine had an article on the Mustangs used in the movie. One fun fact mentioned was how long it took the production crew to get the engine right. It took three months to get that Supra engine right once they got it into the Mustang.
