Invoice W/DFC: $32,213.21
GMS W/DFC: $31,377.86
Supplier W/DFC: $32,783.11

If you're insisting on new, then you may wish to look at an LT2 model.
I am insisting on a new SS. I'm not in a hurry - I'll buy it at MY price, when the first dealer is willing to sell it to me at that price is anyone's guess, I really don't care.

I love the car, want the car, will buy the car, but I never pay anywhere near sticker for any car I have ever purchased. A fool and his money are soon parted, and the people paying sticker for the Camaros now (or above sticker in many cases) have more money than brains. Idiots.

GMS is not much of a discount. At my proposed price, any said dealer willing to sell it at that price still makes a profit, as well does GM.

I honestly hope a dealer gives you that, but I don't see it happening.

BTW, what facts do you base your theory, that the dealer makes a profit by selling you an SSI @ 4K below the stated employee price?

Please share this information.

I actually feel sorry for dealers like yourself who have to deal with customers like that that want to steal the car while the rest of the world enjoys their Camaros that they purchased fairly.

And it's attitudes like yours that let dealers get away with market adjustment prices. From one extreme to the other, I have no problem playing my game untill dealers stop playing theirs. Who's right, who's wrong.... could be anyone's guess since the process of buying a car has been exactly the same since the first car was sold over a hundred years ago.

I'm glad you're happy feeling you bought your Camaro "fairly". I guarantee you overpaid, as is everyone right now, but that's out of my hands. I will wait patiently when the time comes, for certain dealers will be selling below invoice. It might not be right now, but I'm puting out my feelers for any takers now. They can tell me no all they want, I could care less..... the first one who says yes gets my business.

When Z28 SSs were selling for 5k+ off sticker brand new in 1999 and 2000, I have no doubt once everyone of the "gotta have it" crowd has their 5th gen, whether it's a 2010 or 2011, and GM has fullfilled every order, I will be able to buy a brand new 1SS equipped the way I want it for a significant discount.

If it happens sooner, great. That's why I'm putting out the feelers across the internet and other places. If not, oh well... my current car gets me from point a to point b just as well.

I also don't feel bad for dealers. Think about it. I go to the dealership, and I tell them exactly what they want. They don't make the car, they just buy it from GM, and resell it to me for ~$3000 markup once everything's said and done. Thats BS. There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to order a car online, directly from GM, for the same invoice price the dealer pays. Have it delivered to any old GM delaership to be PDI'd, which GM pays for anyway. Then I pick it up and drive away.

Thats why "supply and demand" is such bullshit for a car. It would be one thing if GM was selling them at a higher price to start with, to recoup R&D costs before lowing the price (kind of like apple did with the iPhone). They DESIGNED and they BUILT the car. But for dealerships to be buying these cars and reselling them for thousands more than the thousands they already make, for doing next to NOTHING. Thats BS. Thats not supply and demand, thats price gouging and it should be illegal.

Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet in San Diego sells at MSRP, also accepts $750 rebate from USAA, $500 waiver return and if your military and not Cali Resident, tell them and you don't pay $800+ Cali DMV fees.

Couldn't agree with you more. I have no sympathy for the dealers that GM (and Chrysler) forced to close and forfeit their franchise. They can cry all they want, but dealers really are nothing more than an intermediary between the manufacturer and me. Unfortunately, we are stuck with insipid franchise laws (of which each state has a somewhat slightly different version, so it's about impossible to repeal, and I know GM has tried in the past in various capacities to do so) which protect the existance of car dealerships.

I won't go into my soapbox diatribe about that, which I have in the past on other threads and any member here who's been on this forum as long or longer than me knows very well my position.

Total Camaros produced to date (since March 16, 2009): 73,820

I guess that means there are 73,820 people with "more money than brains. Idiots", and one genius (you) drooling over those 73,820 Camaros. Let me know in how many years from now you get your Camaro at "your price", if you are still alive by then.

I would love to debate this topic w/ anyone who is willing to listen, and NOT just wait for their turn to post something negative.

In order that we do not hijack this thread, feel free to use this one:

I have nothing against dealers, America is based on capitalism. My dealer is O’reilly Chevrolet in Tucson AZ, and they have great customer service. Also, the service

department is outstanding as well, I couldn’t be more happy with this dealer. In regards to buying, I’ve always received good deals from them and I always come back. But we

don’t go back and forth for every dollar, we come up with an agreed price that suite both parties and it’s that easy. Life is too short to upset yourself over a few bucks and mill

on it day after day. Buy and enjoy!!!

I am in total agreement about capitalism, however dealers should be held accountable for all the shady tactics being used by GM or the BBB. Bate and switch for example where the dealer promises you one price and then changes everything the day you are going to pick up the car because they know they can get away with it if you didn't have it in writing. Ultimately you can arguethe customer was stupid and so forth, however there were many situations that happened like that with the Camaro. Fake orders and so forth as well or real orders which they never intended to sell to the customer who ordered them..ETC.. I truly believe that if GM wanted to, with Government agencies to boot, could send in private investigators at random and make some permanent changes to this type of bad behavior..

That's what I say. Why should someone make you feel horrible for paying between invoice and sticker on a great car that everyone looks at and wants to talk about. Is that a crime?
