Somehow I doubt you found a 2SS discounted 5K.
Thats with no options... I doubt this person will get a camaro with no options. If he gets the RS its $1700 for the 2LT and the 1SS already has 20 inch rims so the RS isnt necessary.

Thank you all for your responses. And forgive my mistake on the term "Mail slot". I did know that actually, but in my excitement to ask the question, my fingers moved faster then my brain and added the word "box" by habit at the end of "mail". Hehehe

The idea of swapping out the front bumper later to add the "mail slot" design is an interesting one, but as someone pointed out, the fog lights don't match up, which is what I was afraid of. But at least it's an option, with some work...

I checked the pricing of the SS models... But they just seem too high for my wallet... I don't see myself saving in a few months the amount needed to make a big enough dent with a down payment to make the monthly payments equivalent to that of a 2LT. But I do appreciate the ideas!

I've never been much of a car enthusiast but after reading all the posts on these forums, I have to say you guys are awesome and so helpful and I can’t wait to be a fellow owner! I really do hope that things will work out and I get the Camaro.

Wish me luck! And again, thank you all for your input!

- Tekk

still wouldn't make much difference... the 2 SS is going to be alot more money.. go to the build you own and see for yourself.

I never said 2SS. I'm talking about the 1SS. and correction I meant $1400 for the RS on the 2LT.

P.S. All im saying is that i think a V8 400hp and over 400tq engine for $3k more is worth it but thats just me.

but the OP waas talking about a 2lt and to get the similar standard equipment you have to get a 2SS a 1 SS has alot less standard equipment than a 2LT..
We are comparing like equipment here.. with just changing the mailsot. you would have to compare the 1LT to the 1SS then... he never mentioned 20" wheels...

I ordered a 2LT with transformers / RS package automatic and engine matching color, with tags and tax and everything else it came out to $34,379, last week I found a 2SS transformer , automatic without RS for $36,438.
So it is possible to find a SS for not that much more. But if that's the case then you could find a 2LT for a great price as well.

The thing is, I was looking to add the RS & Sunroof.

Granted the SS has 20" wheels, but does not have standard the HID lights, nor does it have the connectivity package. To be comparable, you have to look at the 2SS compared to the 2LT. And the price jump is significant.

In his first post he mentioned a 2LT so you would assume he would want any car with at least the same equipment that is standard on the 2LT and to get that and the mailslot you would have to get a 2SS.
That is all I was getting at. Since he didn't mention any options that is why i didn't include anything in the printouts for Build Your own. that gives you a good starting point to campare prices.. sure you could option your 2LT to where it is close in price to a 2SS, but you will have more options on it that you would be able to afford on the 2SS.. You have to compare apples to apples... if he does not need or want 426HP why should he pay 4K to 7K more for it?

like I said you would have to compare as close to the same options on one as the other to get a fair price comparison.

I'm not a noob and ive built so many camaros on the website I know the prices like its my right hand... bottom line is OP if you want the mail slot but dont want to pay for the SS then just buy the 2LT and hope your front bumper falls off and then buy an SS front replacement.

Fake? Where is said that is was to be something other than a cosmetic add on? Air was never designed to go in there, it's not a scoop at all. This is
a show item, not a go item and was never meant to be a go item. Oh, and I likey!!!!

In that case it would be better and cheaper just to see if anybody on the forum will switch with you since there alot of people who dislike the ss bumper and would rather have LT bumper
