Arrow Borla S-Type vs. SLP Loudmouth II

Which one do you prefer? Quality of the parts, the sound it makes, price, take all into account.

This is the Borla S-Type...

And this is the SLP Loudmouth II...

Both are nice. You've got a tough decision on your hands I chose Borla, but I've always had Borla on my cars. You'd be happy with either one I suspect.

I've been leaning towrd the SLP II but after hearing them one after the other they sound so similar.
I really want to hear both with LT headers.

They sound the same, the other guy got on the gas more to make it sound louder.
I'm getting ready to order Borla S type myself today.

Between the two of them it is really a wash I would say. Both are top notch products and compines. I would amost say fliping a coin may be the only way to decied. I am more of a fan of the loudmouth I kit, but I like my cars loud.

3 months ago I was in your shoes, it really is personal preference. I chose the Borla because I thought it sounded deeper and the tips were welded on. It makes it a bit tougher to get them aligned properly, but mine are centered and I love them. You won't go wrong either way

My observation has been that more people have heard of Borla and when you say, "I have a Borla exhaust" they will raise their eyebrows a bit and say, "nice...". Loudmouth may not get the same reply. Both sound good, but probably a better Brand history with Borla...

Both are great products. I have had Slp on a few of my previous Mustangs. They are just a tad too raspy for me. I switched to the Stingers and they had just the right sound on the Mustang. Deeper, but still a little raspy.

I found this youtube vid with ARH headers and Borla paired.. Not sure if it is axle or catback.. I will be doing ARH longtubes with high flow cats to my Borla Catback S-type system.. This sounds incredible

Well, I can tell you this much, seeing both in person the Borla tips don't even come close when it comes to looks. As for sound I could not tell the difference. I went back and forth myself. One reason is I kept focusing on that the Borla was that it had welded on tips. I am now glad they are not welded on when it comes to the SLP. I had much more control over centering my system during the install. I have had Borla systems on two of my other cars and they build a good product so I'm sure you would be happy with either one.

Here's my post regarding the SLP...

Hey I watched that video in your thread, and it sounds great. But it seems like it pops quite often and I really don't like that. I thought LM I was the one that popped, and not LM II.
I want something that doesn't pop. So should I be thinking about getting the Borla S-Type?

The SLP has adjustable tips that may allow you to get the look you want easier. My tips are slightly extended from where my factory tips were because I perferred it. Both are great products but SLP has a long history with GM as an offical partner in f-body performance packages.

During the revs it may sound like poping, however, when driving I never have anything like that. For the most part the Borla and the SLP have a very similar design, so what you hear there is basically what you will here from the Borla. You may want to check youtube and listen to some video clips. I will say this though. The videos probably don't do any of the exhaust systems justice as if you were hearing them in person. Mine sounds way better that what I captured on video. I'm sure many others will tell you the same thing. Good luck.
