And regarding the prices, I believe they said the pre-orders were going to run $389. I'll go back and check.

Would there be any change in AFR as the car is driven on the street xxx miles? Since the AFR changed quite a bit can the computer "fatten" it up and in turn lose alot of the hp gain?

Just asking since with GM's warranty policy, I see alot of guys buying CAI but skipping on getting the car tuned. Be nice to know if the initial hp gained from swapping out the stock unit is kept long term.

Looking back in the thread, there's talk about the MAF and placement. Moving the MAF around has an effect on AFR and hp/tq #'s. Not a whole lot, but enough to have somewhat of an impact of a small tune. There's still room to be had with a tune, but the whole point of all the testing is to get the most out of the unit with the best AFR and NOT get a tune. I believe that the hp and tq only get better as the car learns the unit. As you can see, there's lots of testing and one car has over 12,000 miles on the unit.

Hoping the new V8 manual unit gets bonded soon so I can test that unit out.
