Nonetheless, whatever didn't get drained out after 30 minutes would not be enough to worry about.
I have no prob reading the dipstick, did it last night in a poorly lit garage. No prob. |

Just a thought. If you drill small holes in the areas that are marked and one in between, the oil level will show up in the holes. Just a thought.

Slightly overfilling an engine won't hurt it.

No problem reading the dipsticks here. A slight overfill will not hurt. On the LS1 fbody pans we would overfill the oil about 3/4 quart before a track session to prevent oil starvation. Never had a problem.

Well how do you read this dipstick. It has the cross checked tip, then 4 lines in the middle and another cross checked section at the top.
I would assume anything between the cross checked sections would be OK. If you have the oil level showing right in the middle is that the correct level? If it's showing in the top cross checked area it is too high? That's where mine is showing now after taking it for a spin and running it hard, my level shows in the top cross checked area. I will drain alittle in the morning. |

I'd be careful doing that. Mine takes a lot of force to pull out/push in, and I'd be worried about it breaking off in the tube.
