I was talking about those that SAY that the ones that bought a V6 should have bought a V8 are the ones that must be lacking something in the self esteem department, not everyone that buys a V8... there are many people that bought V8's that can appreciate what other people purchase and they (you) are not in that catagory...

I was the one who added the comment "maybe compensating for something"
I apolgise if I offended anyone. It was a tongue and cheek comment that was meant for those who have the mentality that the v6 is a girly car, and only to that group. It was not directed at all V8 owners. I have owned many a muscle car in the past from big block Chevys, a 428 Mustang, a Buick GN just to name a few. There will always be someone who says "Why didn't you buy... XXX". I could easily have "afforded" as the O/P stated, an SS but chose not to. Bottom line to the O/P is that we all have our own reason for choosing what we did, I say if there were a Camaro in every driveway, my car will still be special to me.

And another thing - its not like the ss is a $180,000 car. Love all these "some people cant afford an ss" comments. Really? Im willing to bet most who bought the v6 (like me) could easily afford the much ballyhooed ss. Unless youre making $10/hr, its really not the big exclusive club you like to think it is. We're not talking about the ZR1 here.

Now I know that everybody can't afford the 2ss, but i just don't want to see the market oversaturated with the v-6's, which start in the low 20k range, which is afffordable to all the little girlies out there, who just want "the look" of the car. I don't want to sound stereotypical, but most of the men want the ss or nothing i would guess. this would limit the car out there because of affordability. it won't feel special to me anymore seeing the car in large numbers out on the road, like the old days. remember that?......camaros, firebirds galore evrywhere in the 80's n 90's. i hope GM recognizes they have something special here, and does not jeapordize the integrity of this special aura that is surrounding this car, just for the sake of $ signs. anybody with any insight on this thought?

The whole point of making ANYTHING is to make money... unless you're in a communist country. To make money you have to sell a lot of products and to sell a lot of products you have to make yours BETTER than any competitors.

We can be thankful for the mass production and the reasons behind it because it gives us quality and convenience and features and styling that are second to none.

I'ts not up to us to decide what someone else can and cannot afford.. just because someone makes $30 and hour does not mean he can afford a SS.. You don't have a clue what their financial situation is..If they say they cannot afford one, then that is according to their budget, not yours...
Don't judge someone else until you walk a mile in their shoes...

I would never disparage anyone who bough an LS or LT. I ordered the 2SS because that's what I want. If you got what you wanted, I am ecstatic for you. And glad you chose the Camaro! It's an fantastic car!

Exactly!

To the OP: Your VIN # is what, like in the 60,000 range now?

I have #9471. YOU are one of the guys crowding the roads.

In all seriousness, who cares how many there are? I hope they sell like hotcakes, cause that ups the chance of my Z/28 coming out.

Be glad for demand, higher production generally leads to better quality at a lower price. Low volume high performance cars usually need two mechanics and an on call engineer to go around the block. If you want unique, paint it purple with pink polka dots.

There are some girls on this board that would like to (and could) kick your butt over that and guys that really don't see or need any reason to buy the most powerful model with every available option even if they can afford it. It's all about personal preference.

Wow, good luck with that. If you wanted a rare car, then why didnt you buy a more expensive car? WTH did you expect from a camaro. Just look around and see how mustangs are around your town, then looks at the sales figures and decide whether you want to keep your "real" camaro or not.
The car is affordable, and btw my 2LT/RS was about the same price of the 1SS, so am i girl now too? Wow this has to be one of the most idiotic posts i have ever seen.
Since your rich for having a v8, why didnt you buy a vette or something more expensive. Believe me, the v8s and v6s are very affordable and i assure you, by next summer you will see MANY on the road.
Wow, i cant beleive some people expected this car to be a ferrari or something

I hope they sell one million cars, and never have to stop production ever again. I never see any other new Camaro's on my daily drive to work, and would love to admire the car from different angles while driving!

GM needs the money. Build all kinds and for a long time. I'm looking forward to the availability of lots of spare parts 20 years from now in the junkyards

GM built a plant just for the Camaro..they have invested massive amounts of capital in it..

They MUST sell a huge amount of Camaro's for them to be affordable. If you want a more rare car get a Challenger, but be prepared to pay for it because a more rare, less produced car= more expensive. If you want something really unique then go by one of the new Yenko or Hennessey Camaro's. If you want something more unique buy a GT500 or a Saleen Mustang.

If you were wanting a unique car that you wont see everywhere in the coming years..you picked the wrong car, sorry :(
