We've already heard from Fbodfather that $40k is out, way too high. So you can all throw that one out. Not to mention... yeah, the Camaro has some great features available, but if a fully loaded Camaro, whatever that means to you, comes in at $40k, you're really not too far from Corvette territory, and I can guarantee you any average shopper looking for the HiPo Camaro, if he's told $40k plus, he's gonna ask, why shouldn't I just get a Corvette, other than cosmetic differences? And if a fully loaded Mustang GT premium comes it at roughly $32k-$33k, Camaro has to stay near there, or it's going to fail. So I'd guess roughly $33k-$35k MAX for a fully loaded SS. But then, the only real way to know will be when GM says so...

In your case, Optimus Prime, you can just transform into one.

LOL! Yeah, how cool would that be! To have the ACTUAL Bumblebee Camaro. If by some crazy chance a Rustang beats me, I could just have my Camaro transform and LITERALLY blow the doors off of it. Too bad we can't just do like Sam and buy some old $4k Camaro and have it scan the new SS and change instantly...

6 speed manual trans/limited slip $995
20" chrome rims $1350
electronics package $1060
stereo upgrade (w/out nav) $535

Comes to about $36k

The mustang is a little harder to compare but I built one and came to about $33k, sort of similar to a mostly loaded camaro or challenger. Leather seats, decent stereo, electronic and appearance upgrades, 18" rims.

And here comes one more pointless guess, but I will do it anyway:

I think the base price is really key for advertising purposes, and seeing as how the SS comes with 20" painted rims, limited slip standard, and based on the prices I saw in the market survey, I think the camaro should be priced about like this:

Base auto 1SS $29495
manual trans/ls3 $995
2SS trim:leather seats, better stereo, wireless connectivity, and some more
$3000
RS: polished rims, hid lights: $1500 (on SS model)
Comes to about $35k almost fully loaded.

I am certainly hoping for lower but I think that would be reasonable. I don't think they can offer as stripped down a V8 version as Ford does with all the things they are saying standard but who knows.
I tend to agree with your possible pricing guesses.

I priced a Mustang GT and it came to about $35,000 and a Challenger RT as just shy of $38,000.

If the Camaro is between them for what I want, then I'm good to go.

Let's a take a look at Monte Carlo and Impala $$. Low $20s for LS, mid $25k for LT and a little over $30k for SS

Look at how the G8 is priced with the V8 would bet that is real close to the 1SS Camaro

Look at the cost of options on those cars and you can come within -/+ $1000 of the camaro

I don't think mid to high 30's is out of the question loaded from factory plus a few dealer options.

Hard to believe i paid $1500 for a '68 SS in 1975. And it was deffinately F&D killer.

Don't forget what they did to pricing on the Volt. Was supposed to be 20-30k, now is 40-45k.

That doesn't mean anything. These are two 100% different scenarios.

And for the record, the Volt was never "supposed" to be anything, and it won't be above 40k if Lutz still draws breath.
