Don't forget the tax credit it will get you too. Isn't it something like $6,000?

The dealer is guessing. We have not announced pricing and we don't intend to until around the first of the year.

NOT $40,000 -- this car will be very affordable.

. Me honestly I would say that a very nice equipped 2010 Camaro SS would be priced at around $37k. That would come with the fallowing.

RS package
Boston acoustics sound system
IPod interface
Ice Blue interior Lights
21" wheels
Sun roof
Cat Back exhaust
Hurst short throw shifter
Stripe package

Now I don’t thick Scott would lie to every one he has nothing to gain from it. I am not saying that Scott quoted me on this; it is just using a little common sense. But then again there are people out there where common scene is not quite so common. It has been announced several times that the car will be priced to compete with the mustang. Once you get into the 40k range you start to hit corvette prices, so the why would make something as expensive as the flag ship of your fleet. If that were the case buy the corvette and not the Camaro.

You might be about right, I think:

Base SS = $29,999
RS package = $2000
Boston acoustics sound system = $500
IPod interface = $200
Ice Blue interior Lights = part of RS package I believe.
21" wheels = $1000
Sun roof = $900
Cat Back exhaust = $800
Hurst short throw shifter = $300
Stripe package = $500

That comes to between 36-37k, which might be right. Most people will proably not get 21" wheels or sunroof which will probably put a basically loaded SS/RS for under 35k.

That would be awesome if these numbers are close to being right, and they even sound right. I won't get the 21" wheels, ipod interface, or the sunroof...so that would be putting me in the price range I need....Also, can anyone tell me exactly what the short throw shifter is?

I have a short throw shifter in my WS6 and it is one of the best mods I have ever done. Most short throw shifters will reduce the throw by 30% from gear to gear which equals faster and more accurate shifting. If you add a shorter stick(may be aftermarket) with the shifter it will shorten the throw even more. This upgrade will make the car alot more fun to drive IMO.
