I take back anything I say about this car and snow. During the storm I had to pull it out to get the snow thrower out from behind it, and I got stuck and couldn't get it back into my garage, took me several hours and tries to finally get it back in and then I had to go out yesterday and I couldn't even make it out of my cul-de-sac, which was halfass plowed. This car is worthless on the road if there is snow. I honestly doubt that even snow tires will make a difference. The problem isn't the tires, it is the fact there is way too much torque that you'll spin before you will ever catch anything.

If anyone has tried it with snow tires and had success let me know cause I will get snow tires in that case.

I have to disagree, the car is basically a tank in the snow. I have blizzak LM-60's on my car and I put some weight in the trunk and it's been golden. Was driving on non-plowed roads and it wasn't bad at all. I wasn't spinning or anything. I was actually surprised as well as my boyfriend. A lot of people think the cars are bad in snow but that's because they usually have a heavy foot, if you are gentle with the car then obviously you aren't going to spin out or anything. There were plenty of trucks and what not that were sliding behind me and we kept getting looks like "why is this camaro out in this weather" and others even made comments like "looks pretty steady in this weather!" all you need is a little common sense when driving

i took the car out today, and aside from the unplowed roads, this thing didnt do too bad. as stated, as long as you know how to drive in the snow, you will be fine. The traction control button was also turned off a few times, but i did manage to not get stuck

yup, the lm-60's and 2 50 pound bags of concrete (wrapped up nicely of course) is the formula for traction in the snowy conditions

Now did you just get the 2 rear tires, all 4, or all 4 with rims? Also where would I go to have them put on if I got the tires?

we ordered all 4. 245/40/20's on the stock rims. going to get nice summer wheels instead of buying winters. they fit all the way around with slight stretch on the rear rims, but they fit none the less. its better to have a skinnier tire for more PSI of tire to road so you can cut down through the snow

well when i opened my garage to take a pic of the car and the snow i felt like it was giving me a dirty look and then i looked at my 95 impala ss and it gave me the finger so i took my 07 sierra out to play in the snow and it was all gravy lol

I drove to the Audio shop. We had between 12"-16" and no plows in my neighborhood. Went over all Side roads un-plowed. only issue was pushing slowley through the Deep stuff at all the intersections with out ripping any thing off the front end.

Anyone wanna get me those tires and wheels for Christmas?

Need to wait till I get a few paychecks in to cover other expenses, and if I ever get enough I will probably get those, and 100lbs of weight to add to the trunk. Looking at what, 1200+ for those tires and wheel? So hoping it either doesn't snow again or atleast until I can save up enough to get them.

Also, those are the Scorpions right? Is there really much benefit of the Scoprions vs the Blizzaks, or any winter brand for that matter? And is it better to pay more for 19" or save a little and go 18" or save more and get 20" and mount them on the current wheels?

the 19" rims were cheeper than the 18's on tire rack 30 per rim less (68 vs 99)
and in 19" I felt the Scorpion was my best bet Fot tire selection it is a LT tire.

And was not sure on the fit of the 18's on the 2SS

I checked tirerack.com and a few tire shops and it seems the cheapest i can get snow tires to fit the RS wheels is $230 per tire.... Seems expensive to me but i haven't bought tires in along time.
I'm using Yokohama Prada X all seasons on my SS and we got over 2 feet of snow on Long Island. I have not had one issue. Yes, if you screw around and drive like a maniac, the rears will fish tail. They are working very well when driving with caution. I paid $150.00 each for my fronts and $155.00 each for my rears from Tire Rack.

Worst part is seeing my baby with all that salt/sand on it.
