Aye poor choice of words. They are bleeding money I should say. I mean it with tuff love of course.

I think Lutz had corrected course but still till many things to fix. It's just cheaper to launch without a hud I guess. And if someone with a phat wallet wants one they have it in a couple other rides already.

Corvette HUD

VSD - X .. yea it's kinda lame but it's an effort and it's universal install with the DEFI system

DEFI link display

And you can also add these to same system

I think the Hud is really cool, but it does not bother me too much if it is not in the car at launch, but the tough question is will we be able to buy it as an add-on from GM around December 09?

How about if it was offered at Dinner?

The cost would be to cost prohibitive to add it after the fact, but if you have the cash flow anything is possible.

HUD would have been a nice feature but it sure isn't a deal breaker for me.

ehhh I will agree it is not a deal breaker and truthfully the price will probably push me away from it..but to say "it isnt ready yet" is utter bull s---.

If GM just decided in the last 6 months to add HUD, maybe however I find it hard to believe since this has been in the corvette for some time.. still unacceptable. This car has been in talks for years, most of us on this site since 2006. This is not new technology and in my experience is not a difficult option to adapt to the vehicles interior design....oh well, either way as stated ..not a deal breaker

It doesn't, it hasn't in any form been promised. BUT it has been relayed to us that GM knows that its #1 on the want list AND rumors are its in development but NOT ready. This car was built from the ground up adding another option only delays things and thus it was felt that many would rather have the car than wait ANOTHER year for development (and not just for this option).

They had a disclaimer in the "Ignition" video which said it would be available in late '09.

I have a Vette, and LOVE the HUD system in it. After you have had it in a performance car where seconds count in a reaction to something on the road. Keeping your eyes through that windshield keeps the world in perspective and keeps you in control. Plus it is just COOL!
