I was driving out of a parking space today and someone was going to backup into me. I rev my engine to make my presence know slowwing moving as I slowing release the clutch and press it back in to prevent TAKE-OFF. and yea, I smelled the burned clutch smell. My questions is...........HAve I damaged my clutch? I don't feel a difference. Any xperts let me know.

No experts? I had experience for first time with burning odor.

I used to go through clutches every 6 months in my 68 GTO. Finally went with a Center Force clutch. Solved the problem.

You guys are smelling the clutch because of the vented clutch housing. Your clutch is fine, and all clutches burn. You just smell it a little more cause of the vent. It will get better as it gets temperd or all the manufacturing chemicals. But one thing you gotta watch on these cars, It will destroy your clutch, 6th gear. If your not doing at least 75 mph, dont even go there. With this kind of hp, you will slip the clutch if you get in it at low rpm in 6th. Plus this loads you engine with extra fuel at low rpm and is hard on you motor. Dont drive with rpm lower than 1800-2000 rpm. if you notice your rpm dropping below this, grab a grear! The LS3 likes to growl a little anyhow. Just some advice from an old road ripper.

I don't know what the problem. The only time I smelt it was when my wife drove it

But seriously, the only other time I smelt it was like two or three times when I had to put it up on the wheel ramps, other than that, no smell.

Well I got it with mine last weekend, I was at a light, just fueled up and was trying to reset my odometer when all of a sudden, BEEP, the car behind me and I started clutching and gassing but wasn't in first. Realizing that, I shifted to first and launched, PEEEE-UUUUU. I figured it was the newness wearing off the clutch. I will never forget that smell....
