Just realized another good reason for not driving in the snow
I just came from shoveling the walk and driveway and cleaning off three cars. Do you realy want to be sweeping snow and ice off your car everytime it snows out with those brushes and scrapers? Even if you keep her in the garage at some point you will be somewhere and your poor Camaro will get covered with snow. The thought of it.....

I worry more about scratching the paint when brushing it off.

Never had a problem with the paint on my black Z28. Daily driven for 7 years.

Understand your concern but your paint is not that fragile. There are great brushes that are soft on the finish. A good wax and rinse when I can my cars have always lasted and the paint looks great. Go enjoy it and stop worrying!

I feel your pain. Mine was going to be daily driver. Then I thought about what you wrote about and the salt, but mostly the many other unsafe drivers. Got a beater.

Mine is garaged for the day, about 8" of snow today. It will come out if the roads are cleared and dry on Monday. I rinse it on the days above freezing and dry it off. But the 69 will not see the light of day till April ! This car was not ment to get any road salt on it as it's not as protected as the 2010.

For all the winter fools (like me) driving their cars in the snow, find a scraper with a squeegee on the end for moving the snow off the car...scratch potential drops dramatically.

I have no problem driving mine in the snow, she's my daily driver...that's what I bought it for...to drive..and to enjoy.
The only thing I worry about is the other drivers....if someone was to hit me, they'd better kill me in the crash...cuz it would be on. |
