Does it use a dry filter? If not, is there one avalable to fit it? I am just worried about getting oil on the MAF.

The filter comes pre-oiled. Don't worry about MAF. I have used a similar K & N filter before in Camaros, they work fine. There is not a whole lot of oil on the filter to begin with. Not a concern. No issues here. However, I would think you could find a similarly shaped dry filter if you searched.

Order #83. Installed last weekend. Great product and finish. Very easy to install. The bonus was the added sound. Car is much more aggressive sounding (stock exhaust).

Don O, Looks great. Where did you get the L99 badge on your engine cover?

http://www.emblempros.com/

It's a base plate and the "L" can be had as a custom color on the L99 emblem.

Installed mine yesterday, took less than 1 hour and I am by no means mechanical!

The hardest part was actually putting the lid on when complete.

CAI

I was out of town when mine arrived on the 29th. I opened and installed it on the 31st. The fit and finish of the airbox is great. As far as the intake tube it looked like someone dropped it there was a dent on the throttle body side of the tube that I had to take out and the seam and coating on the intake tube wasn't as good as I expected it to be.
I would have prefered a dry filter but the vendor that I ordered from didn't give me that option. Other than that it was an easy install and the performance gain is noticable

Sorry to hear that fcu, but overall are you pleased with it?

So, Capstone, any luck with the DIY video? Hope the blizzard isn't too bad!

Other than the intake tube issue yes I am pleased with my purchase. I debated over the CAI and Roto-Fab. I liked the color options of the Roto-Fab but prefered the enclosed, insulated filter box from CAI.

Contact CAI, They may assist with the f-up tube.

Craig, CAI, Inc. has the best customer service and will take care of you. I already spoke to James about it and he will be sending you a new pipe as soon as more come in. I will let you know as soon as they come in.

The CAI does not have the option of a dry filter. I wanted one also even if it made 2-3 hp less just so I did not have to oil it. Also, the pipe is not chrome but rather ceramic coated to reflect heat so your IAT's are lower.

Thanks Jimmy,

I appreciate the help on this very much. I'm sure all vendors are scrambling to fill orders and I understand how an occasional small issue like this can happen. It sure didn't stop me from installing it I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase if you find a dry air filter let me know.

Thanks Again
Craig
