I know this is a small, very minor thing, but I really like the setup of the fuel gauge and temp gauge, and the font they use for them. They look more old school than anything.
In the old days, when gauges were all direct hardwired and/or cable operated, when you fired the engine up, the fuel gauge and temp gauge would sort of wiggle while the engine idled, and depending on the way the car was angled or how you took a corner, you'd actually see the fuel gauge dip up or down based on how the gas in the tank was swooshing (old fashioned floats that were just basically basic potentiometers were far less accurate than the computer that averages the fuel in todays cars, making the gauge move almost imperceptively) Especially if it needed a tune up! |

Not sure what all will be on the Camaro but it should show most of the info from the DIC, plus I imagine it would also have a g-meter.

Here's a couple of mine...I took the first without the flash...stupid...but it made a cool little effect (And you can see the lighting controls were lit up)...
and the other two were with flash BIG thanks to Scott for turning the Yellow car on. He was running around like a madman cleaning up...and I really appreciate it! |

Thanks for both pics. You could argue that the font on the SS was different because it had to squeeze higher MPH limits in the same space.
One thing that gets me - WHY does the SS tachometer go to 9,000 RPM?!??! Maybe for seeing what an unregulated overshot of NOS does just before the LS3 goes "BOOM?" EDIT: I LIKE the lighting effects on the dash/console. Nice.

See where Scotts left hand is? I had the same problem trying to take those pics. Also the radio area, the blue surround lighting, very cool.

I like both gauges on the V6 and V8. But, I must say I'd much rather the blue tube lighting around the dash then the orange, yellow, or red. Why isn't the blue lighting in the V6?

I don't necessarily agree about hideous. I think it could be improved. However, you will spend more time looking at your surroundings (and the HUD, if you get one) to even pay attention.
I can see this particular element of the dash being VERY polarizing. Some really hate the look of the gauge-pods to begin with - and the "wild" font scheme may throw even more off. Also, I just think that too many people will be either too busy enjoying the car to notice, or they will eventually grow on them as well. See - you have to remember - there are ~many~ polarizing elements on this car. I think the combination of all of them will leave some saying in the future that "Man, that thing was cool!" regardless of how they first thought of it. YMMV. And, thats all good. Cheers.
