Wipers

I have a 1997 Camaro and I need to find replacement wiper blades. I have tried 3 different brands before going to the dealer and finding out that this year Camaro uses a special size and is discontinued. Instead of the wiper arm going down into a 90 degree U turn it goes up unlike most models. It did not have the wipers at all when I bought it. Does anyone know where I can purchase wipers or use another type?

The only place I found them is parts.com (here's a link to the wipers http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/inde...layCatalogid=0), you have to buy all the parts separate though as no one has the complete assembly.

Wipers

Appreciate the reply. Everything is there except the wiper blades. I need the correct wiper blades to replace the ones that are missing. The rubber and the rack assembly that holds the rubber that is usually bought at your local Auto Parts Store once a year. I went to the link that was given but all that was there was the wiper arm and wiper assembly. I need the correct rubber blade themselves. Does anyone else have this problems with the 97 Camaros?

Autozone like I did for my 95? They are wipers nothing wrong with them. But with my windshield I had to cut a little bit of the plastic off of the wiper so it was all be down on the windshield instead of the middle popping up a little.

Oh so you're just needing the rubber?

I bought mine a few months ago in Wal-Mart. The arms found in stores won't fit the Camaro due to their design but I took the rubber out and put it in the arm with no problems. The Camaro uses a standard length but I forgot how long it is.

OK-I found them. I went to Michael Chevrolet in Fresno (where I live) and the guys there found the correct size. AC Delco 8-2249R 24inch performance blades. The track that holds the rubber fits right into the arms. The drivers side cleans up perfect. The passenger side really well but leaves a tiny line. Maybe it will wear in. Thanks everyone!

Never knew this, I took mine off & painted them (black paint) came off, the curvature of the whinshield is just too severe for any aftermarkets I had found.

I had went with refills, but again, these have become non existant, they force you into buying the blade now.
