Mine is 110 too.

The fat study is flawed!!!!!

Perhaps the airbag sensor is smarter than just a weight sensor.

My girl has longer legs so she always has the seat all the way back, and doesn't mind not being able to see well.

Ok, there is no specific weight that will turn the airbag light on and off. It is not a scale. LOL

There is a range of weights that will turn the airbag on. It can depend on how you are sitting as well.

I've asked those that know the details on this as Mrs. Number 3 will turn it on in some cars and not in others. Even the shape of the seat can make difference for those that are in that range.

My pug could turn the one on in the PT cruiser.

But he's a fat pug.

The safest place for a child is in the back seat, and that is what GM recommends. Also, a child seat shouldn't be in the front seat, period.

The front airbag comes out of the dash pad, right where it says "air bag"

The one on the seat is the side air bag, and no you certainly don't want to put any covers over a seat with an air bag. That's why they put the label there.

It's all automated with a sophisticated pad sensing system under the seat cushion. Not only is it looking at pressure from weight but also shape. A body ass long legged 110, might have a different result from a junk in the trunk 110. Bottom line is if the person that is sitting there is heavy enough to warranty air bag deployment, it will be on. If they don't fit that criteria, an airbag can do more harm than good so it's off.

My 52lb dog causes the seat to fluctuate between the off and position, and gets really annoying when buzzer keeps chiming for the seat belt.

my 5 year old in a booster seat doesn't turn on the air bag so I don't see that a rear-facing car seat with an infant would activate it. however I would reccomend moving the front seat forward and putting in the back seat. This is far safer for your child, and thats what we all want for our children...safety
