I used one of those black rubber band thingies my wife uses for her hair. I attached to the connector line and then hook it on the hook on the inside of the door. Works great and costs maybe a nickle.

I just bought that gas cap caddy posted in tyhe thread.

this is a stupid GM flaw for sure. Problem is my car is black and I usually get full service so the attendants could care less about the cap dragging on the paint.

On my Porsche the cap is magnetic to the door its a very cool design I love it.

Anyone here have that gas cap caddy and likes it or its junk for $2.99?

I put this on here before. This is one of my wife's pony tail bands. They cost about $2 for a pack of 100. It works. You just pull it over the gas cap. Problem solved.

Guys, the simplest thing to do is cut the damn thing off. Lay it on the ground!! One of the first things I did.

I bent the loop out of my cable and it seem to do the trick. But since I have not put gas in it since November I will have to do it again I am sure. I think I am going to steal one of my wife, or girlfriends hair tie deals and try that. Or cut the damn thing off like Tim Adams said. That would be too easy though lol.

I don't think so....be gentle and it shouldn't do any damage at all. if you really want you could wrap the edge of the cap with a wide rubber band so it can't scratch the paint, but i don't think its necessary.

I had the gas cap caddy but still had a hard time keeping the cap in the holder because of the hard cord and I don't want to cut the cord so I removed the caddy and used one of my wife's hair band thingy to hang the cap on the tiny hook, works great!!!!
