The Same Day a friend of mine with a Pullied/Bolt-on 03 Cobra with 275/40/17 DR's Ran a 12.60 @ 116 with 2.xx 60ft.

i can vouch for everything said here, because i was that guy with the cobra. One thing he forgot to mention was that the temp that day was over 100 degrees which made the track temp right at 130+. With fact that the temp was so high and we had to lauch out of the preped area i would have to say that both times were pretty good for a couple heat soaked s/ced cars.

i've rode in both his cars and both will pull the pants right off anything around. Shit are those bees comin at me, haaaaaa haa! that last part was an inside joke for anyone wonder WTF.

Point here is why does everyone have to bash each other about what they drive. its like everything else i like apples, mmmmm there good, and you love oranges. wow they are both pretty good. so just be happy that we all get a chance to drive these high HP cars that we can all enjoy, because someday we will all be driving 4 cyl. mustang II's like the mid to late 70s.

I hope that your jumping on to this forum as a NEWBY and making stupid comments and being cocky somehow makes yourself feel better about your life. To me a Bench racer Is someone who talks shit and even dynos there car but never or hardly ever runs it. It kinda sounds like your the bench racer if the last time you raced the car was in july??? You should get it out more! I realize your 12.63 in your GTO was at a different track in summer weather. But having 2 stock Camaros run faster than your best E.T. pass WITH ALL THOSE MODS Id be PISSED to! Thats why i said what i did.

Black5thgen: I went 12.80@108 on street tires when I was stockish... Auto LS2 GTO, don't think you would run too many circles around me.

Come to the LSX shootout this year in St Louis and lets run heads up...

Some of the responses by 5th gen owners are funny/sad... sounds like there is some sort of resentment for some reason. We are on the same team here.

i have a 05 gto tt making around 630rwhp, and my wife had a 2010 rs/ss.

gto from my stand point. gto drives much nicer than the camaro, more leg and head room than the camaro frt and rear seats, interior is much nicer in the gto. it does suck that the a/m is not there for the gto now.

with the camaro body lines are awsome period but there is no room in the damn thing esp if you are tall like me, door panels need a redesign, the ls3 engine is awsome!!

hell anyone would be lucky to own anyone of these cars but
its sad that people think that just because the car goes down the 1320 the fastest means its the best car in the world. there are alot of people who don't live there life on the 1320 or the dyno.

BTW my stock numbers are based Dyno Numbers With NO Tuning!!!

As for my GTO numbers the Car had 6,800K Miles on the Clock with all oil changes done AT GM Dealer so No Royal Purple for ya!!! LOL

Heres where i got the 364 RWHP number

http://camaroforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37167

^ I guess these guys dont know JACK becuz YOU DA MAN!!!!

My Numbers came from Lingenfelter if you want i could have Kevin send me some dyno graphs of bone stock 2010 SS M6 cars for a good comparison

Final Point Being ITS a DRIVERS RACE!!!! even simple math on a dyno Calculator will tell you this! If you dont like it keep on living in a fairy Tail. But, GM has Added weight to every car they do. The WS6/SS 4th Gens run similar Quarter Mile Time. They may Have less Comfort but its all in WHAT you WANT!! I dare wouldnt Say my 04 GTO will SMACK the FEATHERs of a 02 WS6 Becuz i have IRS and they Have a Live Axle!!! Thats just be biased becuz you own one!!!

Check out the September 09 GMHTP Mag. It explains what i am saying in better detail
No need to get numbers from Kevin on a stock M6 Camaro - mine was 368hp with about 10 miles on the clock. LPE did a great job with my car too. I only got to run it at the track a few times last summer but my best was 12.45 @118 with a 2.0 60ft with the stock tires and it was hot and humid as hell on an unprepped track on tune night. I should be easily into the 11's with DR's and cooler weather. I am actually taking back to LPE next month for the HD half shafts, LPE ZR1 clutch and MGW short throw shifter.

I have nothing against the GTO's and they tend to run pretty good. The night I ran a 12.4 there was a guy in a GTO with a cam & headers running in the 12.6 range. There was also a guy in a new Z06 that ran a 12.9 - obviously track conditions. It may be a drivers race no matter where you are if these cars are close to the same hp and weight.

I can be there ,got any of them heavy camaros that run? I am a real racer.. Ok, I read this post awhile back so I had to pay a visit to a friend of mine up the road. My M6 RS/SS has 4,200k on it with a muffler delete. My friends M6 06 GTO has a Borla Exhaust System with 7xxxk on it. (I couldnt tell you about the oil tho (thats probly why)).

We raced 3 times.

First Run: 25 mph Roll, 1st Gear T/C off on both cars
I honked it off and both cars were dead nuts even until the end of 2nd (in the Camaro) then the GTO sloooowwwwwwwwwlllllyyy pulled away. By the end of 4th I backed out with the GTO about 1 to 1.5 cars in front

Second Run: 25 mph Roll, 1st Gear T/C Enabled on both
The GTO honked the start. This time I pulled out by about 1/2 a car. Once Again the GTO started slowly pulling by mid 3rd gear. By the top of 4th both cars were too close to tell

Third Run: DIG No T/C
I honked it off and had the GTO by maybe a fender. Stayed this way, until the mid 3rd gear range, in which the GTO started to creep up on me. By the top of 4th the GTO had me by about a car. (A Geo Prism length car I Guess, LOL) <- 06x6spdGTO I like your analogies, too bad others didnt understand them!!!

So there is your answer, I admit it was fun close racing!!!
BTW I'm about 6'4" 210lbs, GTO driver is about 5'10" 180lbs

And just to clear the area not all 5th Gen owners are as pig headed as some of these posting. The GTO was the only 4 passenger sports car for GM from 04-06 and they are a real treat to ride in, let alone see!

The body lines my not be as aggressive as the 5th Gen Camaro's but the have a unique style of there own, the kind only a real muscle car enthusiasts could enjoy! <-Black5thGen I hope you read this.

You know I could build a 4 cylinder to whip your ass right? My point is you can build anything up to be fast as hell. Stock for stock the SS will beat the GTO everytime, everything being equal. Once you go aftermarket it's not the brand of car, it's how big is your wallet. All you GTO boys get your panties in a wad cause we are talking smack about your car on OUR site. I could care less what is being said about our Camaros on a GTO site.

4 cylinder has already been DONE, it's all about going to the 3 cyl!

I really really LOVE when a question that is so easy to answer starts going crazy as soon as someone either 1) gets butt hurt or 2) throws in a variable. It's like a mad house
