It was actually both.. Original wheels were m/s... Ordered 2 polished off of ebay.. I believe the powder coat dude had much less trouble prepping the polished wheels..

This is going to sound stupid but what color black is the powder coat? I emailed a local guy about getting my stock rims done and he quoted me 5 different blacks! He had flat black, satin (whatever that color is), glossy black, semi-gloss black, wet black, and super wet black. I have no idea which will look good... I want what you have. It looks awesome! Thanks

I did not.. I believe it was some sort of sand/bead blasting and/or chemical wash to remove the m/s finish.. If you look really really close I think there is an ever so slight difference in the finish texture.. But really nothing to notice.. Wouldn't matter to you since all four of your wheels are prolly matching.. So, you'd wind up with the same finish..

As far as the color.. On a 10 scale w/ gloss being 10 and flat being 1, I went right in the middle with a 5.. Its a satin black.. Powder dude talked how flat would easily show fingerprints and such.. Gloss I thought would be too shiny..

I'm really happy with them.. If I could only figure a way to pin stripe a ring around them.. But there is really no lip to paint.. And then, what color? haha I'm stuck between blue and red with the same question about my calipers.. Its getting warm soon so gonna have to figure something out..

Nice!! I keep thinking of doing this to my wheels, especially since I scraped the passenger front a little.

I assume you don't have any rubbing issues with the 275's up front? Get them off Ebay?

I have been toying with this idea since I got Lola in Oct. I like the combination. Last night I was at the store and noticed that the wheels looked dirty...a constant issue. How do they look after a couple trips out of the garage? Do they show dirt?

Naw.. no scrubbage at all.. Still have the 245s on the front but will be getting 4 same sized tires when I put new shoez on it..

You really don't notice brake dust and such on the wheels.. I have seen abit sand, etc on the inside of the wheels... But it just washes right out.. I think had I gotten the gloss black powder, dirt/grime would be more of an issue..

Thanks all for the comments!
