Gotta ask what the configuration is. My local dealer has had 4 2SS sitting for over a month. The one thing they all have in common, automatic transmission. Never can seem to keep a manual on the lot though...

The 2SS that I test-drove was just bought by one of my best friends (after sitting in mine)...that leaves a 1SS auto and a 1LT on the lot.

ANy news like this is sad. My heart goes out to those who are being displaced by this turn of events.

On the plus side, the Challenger, Camaro and Mustang have all rekindled interest in sport coupes of various stripes. From what I saw at the Chicago Auto Show this past weekend, the Mustang is going to be very formidable with the new 5.0 Coyote V-8 and the new V-6.

It will lead to evolutionary changes for all of these vehicles. That's what competition is supposed to do, improve the products offered to the consumer. Pretty much, I would suspect none of the engineering teams for these manufacturers is sitting around resting on their laurels.

For us the consumers, this is a good thing! We need to enjoy these while we can.

True...but...if you know your competition has 426, why don't you do what you can to make your GT at least 427?

I test-drove a Challenger (looked like my magnum on the inside) and Mustang (too many on the road right now) before picking up my Camaro SS. The Camaro was just at another level...I just wish one day could go by where I don't have to smoke a car at a red light...maybe one day.

Naaa it will only boost used car sales as the performance minded trade in what they got and the majority who only buy for looks snag up the deals on the used ones.

What they need is a body styling change, to re-fire that nostalgic feeling that has done faded since its been out so long. A new engine wont have the masses running to buy new.

I got a question for you and im not here trying to cause an argument either.
This is a Camaro site and we as Camaro owners have an opinion just as you Mustang Owners have your opinion ( I like to say as americans we have that right ) However this is a thread about Ford laying off people and more than 98% Camaro people on here who dont like Ford even say its sad to see an American lose his/her job even if they sell the competitor.

Then you come in and basically bring up the factor the Camaro is the alien and how sad people are buying an alien.

Let me tell you something man I work for the Aerospace industry and We build fighter jets that protect this country. Probably over 45% of its parts are now contracted all over the world and the plane is put together right here in Ft worth Texas.
We used to build everything that went on a F16 from the moment it was raw material to the moment it rolled out to the flightline and into the sky. Now we only make 55% of it and assemble it. NOTHING IS 100% MADE IN THE USA
Your Mustang is not MADE in the USA it is Assembled in the USA there are pleanty of foreign made parts on that car the only difference is your car was Assembled in Michigan and the Camaro was Assembled in Canada.

If you want to argue with someone over a car vs a car thats fine whatever man but dont look down on the Camaro and say its a shame because of where it was ASSEMBLED. Thats BS imo and yes its only my opinion however I guess this coming Friday morning when its time for 9 F16's to be sent over to iran for service we need to stop them because I wouldnt want a plane thats only 55% american made to protect your Butt.

This is not a tear down thread on a automaker this is a thread where someone lost his job mainly because Ford SCREWED up by telling everyone so soon next years car will be more Hp therefore people said I will wait. Not as many cars were built and now look !!!!!! I'm sure soon they will rise once again since the love for your beloved car is so high with many out there.

Right now your tax paying money is paying a gentleman I know in Palm Dale California to sit on his butt and not do anything because he is waiting on a aircraft part that someone in Arizona didnt make correctly.

You can thank your good old American USAF for that.

This is not a Rant thread man come on we are both Americans let show some pride comes as one and pray those 900 folks get another job with the ford system and keep the 3 automakers going strong.
