Yep its funny, they seem to have an obsessive need to be accepted and a part of the Camaro community. Which just prove something is lacking in their blue oval world.

That was true. People didn't know exactly what to expect design wise. Hence why people held off. A lot of guys who liked the order style then picked 09s up on the cheap after the 2010 came out. Those who cared about the new design and interior bough the 2010 because they didn't care about the new motors. However, the majority of those posting on Mustang forums have been waiting for the additional power as well. It should really help sales for the 2011 MY.

Not looking to be accepted. Looking for fun debate. Right now it's a little cold here in MD otherwise I'd be happy to take it to the streets.

BINGO! A couple of dealers that I know are a little upset with Ford regarding the timing of the new engine and the announcement. Seems they loaded up on the new 2010, then Ford announced that the new 5.0 would be out soon and that killed the sales of the current 2010 cars on the lots. It seems that many dealers are holding off ordering a lot of 2011 Mustangs until they can move the 2010 models that they have now.

Once this happens the Mustang market should pick back up IMO.

Robin

Not sure what to think about this news... I'm extremely happy about the success of the camaro. I don't like Ford, would never drive one, think they're pieces of junk. However, it is never a good thing when people lose their jobs... My family knows all too well the consequences of the recent economic problems and companies laying off. More jobs lost is a step in the wrong direction.

Wow 9 pages later and very few have actually read the article.

Just goes to show you people will believe anything posted up on a fan site, if its something they want to see as a negative.

Sad. Its really sad indeed.

The average joe doenst know ship about cars...they just hear Camaro is coming back and go buy one, or mustang has a redesign so they go buy one. I doubt the 5.0 had very much to do with sales. The average user on this site(most car sites for that matter) is not that informed about the car he/she owns and ask plenty of straight dumb questions. Just read through the pages of stupid post after stupid post. Then go to a mustang site that has more than 150 total posts and you will see the same thing. Average people trying to learn about the car they already bought.

I still say 2011 mustang sales are going to be weaker than 2010. Nobody gets excited for v6 versions....I dont care which car brand you prefer. So that wont bump sales...eventhough most mustang sales are 6 cylinders. LOL mostly because chicks drive them...kind of like a vw bug.
Well, you don't have proof that wasn't the reason. Also, don't doubt the intelligence of current car shoppers. Thanks to the world wide web anyone can do deep research on any vehicle and they do USE it.

To bad, so sad.

For GM to be #1 again Furd has to tank and like wise, and since Im a GM man, I have to hope Furd goes under, and GM buys them like Nintendo did Sega and the Rustang becomes a 4cyl eco box.

Nice pipe dream, but not going to happen. Will not tell you to actually the article because your already locked in the Matrix, hoping beyond hope that this little bit of news bode ill for Ford. Welp, I will cut to the punchline. Ford stock went UP..not down, the 900 EMPLOYEESS will go to OTHER PLANTS. NOBODY ACTUALLY LOST THEIR JOBS.
