Thats why I got white with black stripes - looks sharp, but doesn't scream "give me a ticket".
For those who don't believe color matters:
When I was in my 20's, I had a 68 camaro wih a 454. However it was gray primer, with "normal" sized tires. In two years I was pulled over once, and talked my way out of it. I then got a 68 Z28 that was green with white stripes with the wide TA's. I was pulled over 8 times in 6 months. Cops would pull u-turns to follow me even when I wasn't doing anything. I also drove the green one much more politely and carefully, but it didnt matter.

This....I wish happened in my town. They had a proxy officer there...and there was no trial. It was like cattle hearding. Mass-produced fines...no objection, no case, no back and forth with the judge, prosecutor, or anyone.

"here's what you did, here's how we reduced it, here's what you'll pay. Get outta here. NEXT!"

But anways, sorry for the mini rant. I can imagine a bright yellow sports car that looks as good as the Camaro being noticed more by police.

Now I am convinced that the color does make a difference. Me and the wife was heading up to Pa. in seperate cars, her's a new camaro dark blue metalic no stripes and my Bumblebee with black stripes, both tinted the same. My wife was following me. We get 15 miles up the road and a Maryland State Trooper was coming the other way made a 180 went by my wife squeezed in between me and the wife put his lights on and pulled me over. First he says I did not have a front plate which I did have a flip plate and it was more on the passenger.s side rather then the middle do to the flip plate mounting. then he says I had Illegal tinting. which I did not and showed him the papers from the tint company that it was 35 percent including factory tint which is legal in Md. then he say's my front window tint was below the legal limits. and I said no because of the bow in the window on the ends only will it be below the line. so he takes my license and comes back to the car and issues me a warning for my front window tint and tells me what a nice car I have and drive safe. Now you tell me the Bee's are not targeted.
Once the cops tag you where I live, you are forever on their s---list. They routinely pull same offenders over. It's like you have a big X on your car.

Knock on wood here...

I've now put just over 7000 miles on my car, over half of it doing highway driving. Though the first 2000 miles I mostly kept 3mph over the speed limit, I've been pushing that a little more when I'm on the back-country roads. I've gone by 3 cops now at 5-10 over the speed limit. I have an IBM SS, no front plate (which is required here in WA) and no window tinting.

I haven't been pulled over...yet. A cop did pull out behind me with his lights on this evening, but blew past me apparently on the way to some other scene.

buzzy56: I have the same combo as you and my wife is right- "total cop magnet". Got a speeding ticket before I put 1,000 miles on my SS. Got out of it (reduced/no points) but still a pain in the a$$. I now drive like an old coot which takes some of the fun out of driving this great car.

COPS

I don't want to brag but I had my car for a month this Thursday! I use to get followed all the time in my Pontiac G6 GXP coupe. I had illegal tint on it never got stopped the 24 months I had it. Cops would just tag against me all the time or they would sit in parking lots and just monitor me! Ever since I got the Camaro I have only been tagged once. I threw 35% window tint on and my front plate but I have been lucking out:( A couple times it snowed outside I stole my mom's G5 and I got followed several times. In Wisconsin I always see Pontiacs pulled over than anything else. I passed a cop going 10 miles over and a guy gave me a thumps up in a Tahoe

You lose. what don't you get ? Yes he checked it and as I stated it was 35% come on why do you think he went to the front windshield and said it was below the line and illegal. Please read before you make a foolish statement, and I do not care what color or car you have it should not be targeted. I'm 60 and I sure feel sorry for the younger generation who decide to buy a new Rally Yellow Camaro to enjoy, but I do not believe this happens everywhere, just because we choose to own a car that stands out amongst the rest does not give the cops the right to pull you over in my opinion that is jealousy or harrasment. Thank you.

That's the scary part, a cop can give you a ticket and say you where speeding, and it is his word against yours. There are a few cops out there that are power driven, that is why they became cops in the first place. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of good cops out there.

There are trade offs... I was thinking about getting 'Victory Red' , but ended up getting 'black' just for this reason.

I love my black , but WOW, I see every single hairline etch in the clear coat.
