Because don't forget we're talking a year, maybe two away yet. Price the Z-28 mid-30's and the SS mid-40's.
Such a shuffle of models would probably have to wait until the next generation in order to avoid confusion...

At any rate, except for the first three years, which is debatable, the Z28 package has usually always been the most expensive model of Camaro you could get. Why change that?

yea and when someone hears Z28 they think the high end, bigger engine package. honestly, i would be very dissappointed if they put a TT v-6 in the Z

Well the LS1 SS's were SLP modified Z28's. Hence my reasoning for the TT Z28, and LSA SS.

In the 4th gen, the Z28 was the best Camaro that GM built. Shortly there after, SLP was allowed to modify Z28s and badge them as SS's. Because of that, people have the mistaken belief that an SS must be a higher tier than Z28. Truth is, GM can do what ever they want and generally consider Z28 to be better performing than the SS.

I don't know. There hasn't been anything remotely official saying that the Z28 will go into production before the vert so I'm not sure why anyone is thinking that it will come before the convertibles which will start production in about 1 year.

I really hope that they r testing a new lighter platform. Tmi says the future camaro should be sharing the same platform as the new Cadillac ats. Which is alot lighter. I really hopeso that with lsa. Talk about fun.

Yup. The 4thgen badging is a little confusing, because the SS was "factory aftermarket".

That platform is designated "Alpha", and will likely underpin the next generation Camaro...not this one.

I personally think it would be awesome if they would let you customize the trim down to the motor. Offering the LSA, LS7 and LS9, obviously at different prices. But so that they can kind of make it so everyone can get what they want. I don't know how practical that is but it doesn't seem like it would be too hard. They could just make them all custom built instead of manufacturing a whole bunch of them. They could be built at order...
