Sound difference between muffler delete and Loudmouth?
Is there really any difference in sound?
Also, is the muffler delete legal in Ca? ![]() I would sure like to get away with a $100-200 delete setup w/ x-pipe instead of dropping more than twice that on the SLP system, if they were reasonably similar. What's your input? Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing the sound is almost exactly the same, all that the slp's do is delete the mufflers. Possibly slightly deeper on the tone maybe cuz the slp's are 3" piping, I think?
I just got the muffler deletes with x-pipe, resonator removal, and 4" dual wall tips for ~200. I love it. As far as muffler delete in CA....Your cats are in place so you'll still pass emissions, but I'm not sure if they have visual inspections or not. Some states require you to have mufflers.

so maybe SLP's LM looks like theres mufflers there, but there isn't really? I'm not so worried about a visual insp. as just passing smog when the time comes.

Hmm doesn't look like LM's have a muffler, the LM II does, i believe. Emissions is not a problem with any of the axlebacks. Only when you mess with the cat-converters does emissions come in to play.

Watch this and make up your mind. This is SLP catback and loudmouth with no mufflers:

Or you can do what I did and purchase your own tips and x-pipe and take it to your local muffler shop and have them cut out the mufflers, bend some pipe and weld it all up. You may also choose to reuse your stock tips and just have them cut and weld those on. Saves you a bit of extra dough. By the way linkwpc, your car sounds great. Very similar if not exactly how my setup sounds.

The reason I got SLP becuase it was a fully mandrel bent and made to fit my car. Also if I did not like I can take it off and sell it. Its very hard to sell a custom exhaust set up.

I have the SLP LM II and that has mufflers and it sounds awsome! It is alot louder then i thought i would be. I started my car with no muffler when i installed the SLP lm II and I like the exsaust note with the muflers better IMO.

I definitely considered your same setup for the resell cost and such because I'm planning in the future going with a full cat back setup and headers. But I always say I'm gonna sell a part when I take it off and it just ends up in a pile in my garage. So I figured to just do this as a cheap fix until I get a full catback.
