Very nice write up. I too just finished installing my the other day on an LS3 Camaro.

I have noticed a nice bump in performance, I have to to do a MPG check though, I haven't had the chance to fill up this week.

I was averaging about 27.5 on the highway and 19.3 in the city. So it will be nice to see an increase in fuel savings.

A nice complament from a Mustang guy today. He was very impressed with the quality and the look of the intake under the hood. It didn't look cheap or goddy.

Your are averaging what with a 1SS? 27 hwy and 19 city. How are you pulling that off? Sorry for the thread jack ,but I would be so happy to even come close to that with a V8.

I installed mine tonight and had a little problem.

I could not get the lid to seat properly with the rubber seal still attached to it. It was far too tight where it needed to be seated with the rubber still intact. I tried it like 20 times. After I took the rubber off it fit just fine. Where this is located it doesnt look like a big deal to leave it off. Shouldnt let much more hot air in I hope.

Should I try and get this to work? I dont know what else to do. I tried putting it exactly where the instructions stated and everything. Finally just gave up.

Any input on this?

thanks for the help

CAI has an account on here. I know they will help in a heartbeat. PM them or give them a call. I would want that seal on there.

I just sent a PM... hopefully they can shed some light on this.

The intake is all ready open in the corner of the car where this seal is located. From looking at it I dont see how it could do much harm/effect performance leaving it off. I guess we'll see what they say.
