1. Ambient lighting. The one pdf that came out mentions that it's an option, however no where on the description of standard options or available options is it mentioned (I ordered my SS yesterday). Is it real? (Man I hope so or I will be one pissed off camper). I would think that they would have it in a description SOMEWHERE in the ordering stuff...it isn't.

2. Launch control. It's also only mentioned in that PDF, not in any ordering info as standard equipment.

Please someone put my mind at ease here with real info, not guesses.

Question 1 answer:
Ambient lighting is included with any camaro that has leather trim (2LT & 2SS). THE OPTION is to purchase a kit from the dealer (not factory installed) to change the color. The only exception to this is the inferno orange trim package that will change it to orange.

Question 2 answer:
Launch control is available on the SS trims only (cant remember if its specific to just he manual or covers both the manual and auto).

Another thing about the ambient lighting, right now it is our understanding that the lighting stays blue regardless of the color kit you buy so if you buy yellow interior kit the light will look green :(

Thanks for that, but where did you get that info? I poured over the order guide, and the GM order guide online (had my dealer print the whole thing). Checked every line item for standard equipment and options and couldn't find it mentioned in any place.

Hmm my dealer told me that currently the ambient lighting wasn't ready for production and that they hoped it would be by the time production begins ..

Can anyone confirm the status of ambient lighting?

Are you kidding me? Sounds like your dealer didn't know what he was saying. There has been NO mention of the ambient lighting not being ready. I think someone took photos of the ambient light at Indy or was it TX ? I forget.

IF you got leather, you got the ambient lighting.

No worries .. with all the information out there , there is bound to be confusion .. the dealer has been a very good experience (and isn't trying to gouge anyone)

That being said .. I'm glad that is cleared up .... I got the 2SS/RS so I should have the ambient lighting ..

Still no one showing anything that confirms it. I want to believe, really I do, but I've been in the tech industry a long time. The absence of reference is troubling, especially when it's a feature you'd be bragging about.

Please. I'd like to sleep tonight. Scott...someone in the know that I know is in the know..

diarmadhi is right about the ambient lighting. I can't say where the source is on it but fbodfather has told us on here before. The sources are on the site, they are just harder to find now.

The launch control should be standard on all manual V8's. Auto's don't really need it.

I've went over every Scott post. Didn't see anything about the ambient lighting and it being available at launch and on what cars.

Yes I know it's for the manual only (you'd not need it on an auto). Since I ordered the manual, I'm a tad worried.

It is stated on the (2) page salesperson highlight card that the SS will have:

Standard Stabilitrack Stability Control System with Traction Control with:

- Competitive/Sport Modes
- Launch Control (Manual Transmission)
