Some people act differently. There are many people who never show their true emotion about things when there are a big group of people around. I am one of them.

I myself thought the video was really cool!

The kid may have his head on straight... but that doesn't mean he isn't going to run and gun her. How many of us on here have taken our car to her limits... I would say quite a bit of us... or why the hell would we get an SS. Most of us have been driving for a long time and have been in certain situations and know how to handle them. This kid doesn't have a clue.

Do I care that when I turned 16 in 1998 I was given a 1984 Ford Ranger beat to hell and this kid at 'almost 15' gets a $38000ish Camaro SS.. not at all. I loved the hell out of that truck and me and my buddies had some fun in it. It sure does make me appreciate the cars/trucks I've bought since then a whole lot more.

Here's where the problem lies...maybe he is a good kid... but what about when him and his buddies go riding on a Friday night and his friends are pushing him to go fast.. maybe try and impress a group of girls or something. I'm going to bet that he gives in to the temptation and does something stupid. I hope he proves me wrong though.

When I have kids I'll be able to splurge and get them something very nice and new but it's not going to happen. I'm a pharmacist and my future wife is going to be a pharmacist or dentist (she's very fickle ) so money isn't going to be a problem. My kids will buy there first car just like I did. Am I jealous of this kid.. not in the slightest... I actually feel sorry for him. Just my 0.02

I hate these topics of 14-16 yr olds getting a camaro SS - I usually end up writing 2 pages, but unfortunately I have an exam to study for so I'll make it quick and to the point...I didn't actually ifnish the video because I was too frustrated

1) for all you who say he's a lucky 15 yr old - no he's not. I used to think that too. He's very unlucky. His parents are buying him a car too powerful when he's too young. It's like giving a 2 year old sharp scissors, telling him not to run with them, then leaving the house.....not the 2 year old's fault, he didn't know any better. Kid might be smart, outgoing, doesn't matter. That's why you have to be 21 to drive a tractor trailer - who cares if you're 15 and smart and nice etc. you don't have the experience and capabilities to drive a 400+hp car!

2) it's fine to buy your kids something nice, but a couple points..they DONT deserve it. I'm sick of hearing kids or parents saying, well, they did well in school...and? I might only be 22 but I'm def. in favor of the way things were when my dad grew up - you do well in school b/c you want to make something of yourself, not to get a new car second, if you do buy your kid a car, buy them something safe, reliable, maybe a little sporty! I dont think kids should have anything to show off or excessive speed when they didn't EARN it! Showing off a camaro, bmw, rangrover when you don't earn it is pathetic!

3) I really feel bad for these kids. No offense to anyone but I don't feel they are learning anything. They don't understand the value of the dollar, they're a danger to everyone on the road, and a lot of times they get a false sense of entitlment.

just my two sense, i guess it wasn't so short afterall, but this really gets me frustrated - even if I were a millionarie my kids would not be getting a new car - I'd buy them a safe, used car, and if they want something more they can WORK FOR IT

All I have ever had was v8 power and never had a accident or miss treated the privilage.
No one is saying he is going to wreck, what a lot of people are saying is that the odds of him getting seriously injured increase dramatically with that type of HP.

exactly - for everyone one of you there's 9 others who weren't so lucky...if 9/10 almost 15 year olds aren't responsible, speed, race, crash etc...it's not worth the risk. There's also an entitlement issue - everyone has different opinions, but why a camaro 2ss? why not a chevy cobalt coupe? If he's truely a good kid he'd appreciate a cobalt.

cool video and the kid was in shock some people show emotion in different ways dont jump all over the kid because he didnt start screaming like a little girl. The parents know what their giving their kid and hopefully he makes the right decisions with it. Just MOB slow to show it off haha.

All that being said i wish the kid knew a little more bout the car since he researched it so much . Blower? Black under thing? Front body kit? Hmmm i hope i ordered mine with the black under thing.

But hey congrats to him on the car his parents know him better than we do

I hope you aren't taking a spelling or grammar exam...lol. Don't listen to me though, I'm a grammar nazi in the worst form. My co-workers and friends send me e-mails to proofread before they send them out.

Honestly, I don't know why everyone here is ragging on the kid or the father. Did you pay for the car? Is it your son/daughter driving it? Just be happy there's another Camaro enthusiast in the world and let it go. If the kid wrecks it he wrecks it.

And those are my two CENTS!

no offense taken on grammer - my grammar is absolutely horrible. even when I write my dad a personal email he has to comment on my grammar, so I'm used to it. But no, it wasn't a grammar exam, it was CHINESE with Chinese grammar - so even worse! :(

My only reason for caring so much about 15 year olds with 400+ hp is because they drive on the same roads as me, my family, my baby sister...

Good luck with that Chinese exam. I tried to learn Japanese, hard as hell.

That's true about them being on the same roads. But that's where parenting comes in. Hopefully he knows that all racing should be kept at the track.
