http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343111 The problem we found on the GTOs (pretty similar technology) is that the factory fuel lines wouldn't support enough flow to keep the pressure up at the rail or we would drop the pressure at the rail before the pump could catch up. Many people started building various systems using a #8 or a #10 stainless braid from the tank to new fuel rails with a regulator after the rails feeding the excess fuel back through the stock hard fuel line. Many different setups were used, but once people reached around 650+ rwhp, new lines were normally required. I haven't seen many people mention it around here, but you should be keeping your tank above a 1/2 if you are higher horsepower. The pumps are responsible for both feeding the engine and keeping the sump that surrounds the pump full of gas. This prevents it from sucking air and aids in cooling the pump. If you run below a 1/2 tank and are at the limits of your existing pump, you can and will run that sump dry, lose pressure, and run lean. |

667 RWHP and 629 RWTQ on 93 Octane Pump Gas! This was on a stock LS3, duty cycle on the injectors was in the 70s with plenty of fuel pressure, plenty of fuel to make much more power but we didn't want to push the stock block any further. Best Regards, John Page Twenty First Century Muscle Cars |

They appear to be Walbro 255s. In the older, 4th gen F body world, they support 1000 rwhp, and thats with a return style fuel system.
I would not discount the standalone fuel systems. each setup has its merit, and I like the standalones for some builds, and the twin intanks for others... |

Any updates, what would you go with for 800rwhp? I dont want to have to worry about getting below 1/4 tank.

How much to get this installed locally? I'm running 65lb/hr injectors and am running low of fuel pressure at 550whp.

after labor you're talking well over a grand for a margin of safety that I think you are overexaggerating.

I can speak up for Fastlane as I am overly impressed with their pump. As many of you know, Texas Speed and Performance and just did a very extreme build on my car and I already had the KB boost a pump and 65lb injectors and fuel system wouldnt keep up. In the new build, I added the dual pump and Jason was very impressed with the fuel system and his exact words "the fuel system is kicking ass". My car dynoed at 725hp to the wheels and 740 torque and also have nitrous and methanol for an additonal 250hp and the fuel system works perfectly. I can't say enough as I had concerns at first with how the fuel system would handle this much hp but I am very pleased and thank Fastlane for really producing a very high quality product. A+
