Bought mine online - find a good supplier and follow their sizing charts on measuring. I bought a pyotect Snell M 2005 FLAME graphic helmet for $150.00. Fits perfectly! Looks awesome!

You need a helmet that fits you... that is as important as the rating. If the helmet is loose and you have an accident, you will not be a happy camper.

I agree with 570hp-lpe. I might not be here if not for my helmet.

I doubt that the speeds will go 100 MPH or more at the Fest and nothing is a guarantee, but a good helmet that fits is cheap insurance.

This is a good thread... I haven't bought my helmet yet. I did stop at a motorcycle shop, but they said that they didn't carry any that were approved for auto racing. I really want to get a Simpson helmet, but they are a bit pricey. How much notice does MTI need to have one waiting for us? Did they say that they were bringing extras to sell there? I'll have to look for that thread again...

Well on a cone course, I doubt you hit 100, but I have done it a few times on full road courses

I agree, the speeds will not be that high and the chance of a roll over is extremely small.

You do not have to spend several hundred dollars to obtain a quality helmet that will work for the autocross as long as it fits correctly. I believe (my opinion only) a quality, fitting, 3/4 helmet is fine, no need for a full face, expensive helmet on this course.

F.Y.I., I was not driving (didn't want you to think I couldn't drive). I was on a pursuit course and was instructing a cadet on pursuit driving while he pursued another instructor. He lost control at 100 MPH coming out of a large curve and we rolled 5 times. That is when you need a full, quality, correctly fitted helmet.
