I personally ordered mine more because I knew what I wanted and what I wasn't willing to pay for (meaning items)
Glad I did.

The last day to order a 2010 is around April 10th. I'm not sure when the 1st 2011 orders will be "accepted" by GM (I have that question out to a dealer.), production starts around June 10th, so you won't get the car until August/September.
You can get big discounts right now for buying a lot car (apparently this is regional). I've been offered $2k under MSRP on 2SS/RS LS3's right now in PA. |

If one is available on a dealer lot and meets your requirements, BUY -IT. However, if you want it built a certain way (like mine) then you need to order it thru a dealer. So far to date over 4300 Camaros have been built for Michigan and only one will be built with my options and that is mine.

Yeah, I haven't see any real savings in buying off the lot, so I'm not sure.

You might want to try some of the salespeople members on the forum here to see what kind of deal they could get you on a lot LS (if you haven't already). User names: CamaroScotty, BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet, espo19047, Rockmont etc... Good Luck! |

This car was the first I ever ordered from the factory - and the experience has been beyond amazing! If you have the patience (which I was starting to lose at the end), go with having one built just for you, exactly the way you want it. You won't regret it!

The dealer is only making about $1,100 for the LTs selling them at MSRP. That is the reason that they are not making great deals on these cars. If you're a GM employee, relative of one, or a member of a qualifying credit union, the preferred pricing gives them NO room to move around (albeit they get some other incentives when making these sales). The MSRP for mine was $31,350, I'm getting it for around $30,374, the invoice is $30,334. So the dealer is making ~$40 between Preferred and Invoice plus some other incentives from GM.

Plus GM is making around $8k per SS & $4k per LS/LT (per interview w/Lutz a few months back), there is no way the dealers would only be making that much per car ($40), it doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. They receive some additonal reimbursement/incentive from GM. |
