Thanks Becky. Do you have any idea how long it takes to get from 1100 status to 3000 status? We ordered from the dealer on 3/13/10 and they told us no more than 6 weeks to get the car, they even said, probably less than that. I'm not getting that impression from reading this forum. Are we looking more like 2 to 3 months? If that's the case I may cancel the order and have another search done to see if the exact car I wanted already exists somewhere.

Thanks Becky you rock! Do you have any idea of an ETA to Long Island, NY once it's built?

Can anyone tell me the average build time wait once you've ordered your car from the dealership?

6 to 8 weeks from when GM picks up the order...status 2,000.

BonSid, I too had the same problem. I ordered mine on 3-8-10 and was at 1100 for 2 weeks, until I contacted my dealer and asked, WTF..??.

Becky helped me understand how this works, and she may correct me if I'm not totally correct, but I hope the following will help you get your car moving:

#1) You need to call your dealer and make sure your dealer has "allocation" to order your car.
#2) If your dealer HAS allocation to order your car, your dealer needs to physically "place" the order with GM. Your order will not be picked up by GM like other GM vehicles will.
#3) If your dealer DOES NOT have any allocation to order your vehicle, you will wait until they do, or, you may cancel and find a dealer that does.
#4) Or, your dealer may be telling you they have allocation, when in fact they do not.

I hope this helps. Becky, please correct or add to any of the above.

Good Luck!

Your TPW will be solid when it hits 3400 status. Right now it's still 3000. Don't worry too much, they are usually good dates, but we have seen one change. Keep checking.

Once it's built, you could safely figure a couple of weeks. Could be sooner, but 2weeks is realistic.

I'll see if I can find that out...right now we can't even get the guy to return calls...he's always busy and he said he had to get help to even place the order in the first place. I may have to cancel the order with them and order through Becky. She seems to know her stuff. I think we'll have a heck of a time getting back our deposit money though.

Michigan law makes your deposit refundable. At this point, there is nothing about your order they can't cancel. Holding your deposit is just their way of trying to hold you as a customer. Patience persistence will either get your order moving or get you deposit back. Good luck.
