Because its alot better then a maggie supercharged SS. The stock SS may be plenty for some folks but I need more and I was ready to order up a 2010 SS 2LT and slap a maggie on it and rule the streets. But after reading threads here actually I learned that the GT500 is a beast of a car with its FACTORY 550hp, forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons and the older 2010 run's 11.5x on MT's. Its thats only the beginning... Pulley and tune are good for another 100whp and a $3,500 2.9L Whipple supercharger will be good for 650whp w/ stock parts and 750+whp w/ a few supporting mods.

So it was a no brainer when I had to decide between a supercharged SS for $48k or a 2011 GT500 for $52k

Ive never been a Ford guy and use to make fun of my friends 03 GT and loved beatin up on 5.0's in the 90's w/ my old 67, but I just couldnt buy the SS simply because im a chevy guy.
Thank you Camaro5.com for helping me make my decision.

I, personally, was thinking of a different word, but that one works

You must of just missed it!

I think with good drivers matching up the New Mustang and Camaro is going to be a hell of a race!
Beech Bend is blessed or something. I've witnessed more than a few stock cars make best ever passes at that track. The irony is that, when you walk around the staging area and see what looks to be the condition of the track, you would swear the thing was ready to be razed.

I had a real 93 SVT cobra. Red, gray leather w/ moon roof and factory CD player. Nice car but strange option package. It was fully loaded but no cruise control or rear window defrost?

Kind of wish I still had it. Really wish I had my 65 Mustang.

The cobra R should make a comeback
with a new N/A 5.4L or a DOHC 6.2L

Best part about it is both cars are already bad-ass. We're just debating increased (incremental?) bad-assery.

Hopefully Mopar gets moving on the Challenger. I really like the style, but can't get past the comparative price/performance issue.
+1....mopar has a great looking car in the challenger well the front looks good anyways but man it lacks in performance and is priced sooooo high aswell

As for the Challenger, the Vette only has 2 seats and both the Vette and GT500 are at least 3 grand more expensive. And again, an excuse for your hipocrasy.......
Why dont you watch the edmunds test video?

13.0 @ 110.9

Nice job finding the worst time. Do they say if its an auto or manual in the article? Most articles ran a 13.1 with the L99...not the ls3. And being that the edmunds test video shows 13.0...this is just kind of strange.
