Also, check with your insurance company regarding the V6 vs. V8 premium. I have 17 and 22 year old sons and that pretty much made the decision for me.

2LT, Automatic, IOM exterior, IO interior, black stripes, 31K out the door. (This includes what I like to say: tax, set-up, freight, shipping, and handling). I have learned to only discuss one price, COST-OUT-THE-DOOR. It takes all the extra BS out of the equation that people forget to mention when discussing price of items. Cars, sleds, airline tickets, etc etc.

27K August 2009. Auto, Sunroof, spare tire ($150). Got in on the last week of "Cash for Clunkers", $3500 for my 2001 Dodge Ram.

Will add Cyber Grey stripes, Rear spoiler, tail light panel blackout (in cyber grey), long tube headers & CAI. But nothing yet. Owned it 7 months & only 2200 miles, (I'm never home)!

I agree about the debate, but with 304HP stock, getting 29mpg highway I just couldn't justify the added cost of the V8.

GOD I LOVE this car!

I got a 1LT M6 with the RS package, C&C package, Boston accoustic package, Sunroof, and 20" polished aluminum wheels. MSRP was a little over 29K I got supplier pricing and the turn in waiver saving me $1500. So I paid about 27,500 for mine.

My 1LT/RS was 30995 then after all my discounts(usaa/military/opt out) plus 5k down it came out very reasonably!

I ordered a 2LT RS Auto Rally Stripes

Total vehicle & options $29,686
+ destination fee $795
Total $30,480

I put $10,000 down and my payments are about 100 bucks more a month then my 2004 Monte Carlo was.
