So just to be sure I read all this right. The Camaro has a less aggressive rear end gear than the Mustang, had wider summer tires to the Mustang's narrower all seasons, and has less aggressive transmission gearing as well, and still it burned out 3x as long as the Mustang, and much longer in just 2nd gear alone. What more proof do you need that the 5.0 is weak on torque?

ALL HAIL KING TORQUE.

At the flywheel? Sure. But the Mustang and the Challenger both put down more torque at the wheel than the Camaro does, especially when the Camaro is running in 2nd gear and they're in 1st.

AH HA HA HA and thats the new 5.0L engine too lol.

That is hard to believe like DGthe3 said, the results were kind of suprising. I would be curious to start the camaro in 2nd and see if it does any better.

Once again why the camaro is so great

Edmunds Inside Line, if you are reading these posts, now do a test on the v6's that each company offers! also why would you guys say the pirellis are a hard tire? i thought they were a soft tire

As someone already mentioned..the most telling thing is his reaction...nothing really after the Mustang or Charger...after the Camaro..giddy "And they pay me to do this".."that's just the best thing ever"... Awesome!

I'd add that he was even a bit frustrated with the Mustang, and how complex it was to turn off its traction control. Should you really have to scream out "success!" when you finally get it turned off?

Yeah,I wonder what the procedure is....I thought the Camaro was bad compared to previous cars I've had..if he complained about the Stang but not about waiting on the Camaro...it must be tricky.

Oh sorry, thinking(typing) out loud and off topic lol...disregard.

Maybe I shouldn't have said he short shifted the Camaro..let me re-phrase he shifted prior to the rev limiter while he rode the rev limiters on the other 2 until they stopped spinning..and he DAMN SURE did not short shift the Stang or the Challenger...
He drove the Camaro completely different...had he used the same technique with all 3 I still bet the Camaro would have won...but the results wouldn't be quite so spread out and dramatic.

3rd pass in the Challanger, chirp into second...all three passes in the Mustang, chirps into second. Sure seems like he tried to get them to cut loose in 2nd gear. Maybe it does have something to do with the longer times at the limiters in the Chally and Mustang, but to me, it sure seemed like he tried to get 2nd gear scratches out of them.

Not saying I'm right, just saying I think he did indeed try. He tried in the Chally after asking if there was extra points for getting them into 2nd.
