Key word being should.

I want to see what production 2011 Mustang 5.0s put down on the dyno and times they get at the track.
I agree with you on that but from what I have read I was expecting a slight advantage but it seems all that I find is pointing to a bit more then I expected.

I like where your heads at.

Ps. thanks for being on topic fellas

Who cares with stats these close? Its really a drivers race. And the V6 Camaro is most definitely capable of high 13s BONE stock, it just needs a good driver. never trust those cars mags, their times rarely hold up in the real world.

The problem is, by that logic the mustang is capable of mid 13's easily (which is true unless the mag cars are ringers).

Hasn't only 1 person ever achieved high 13s in a camaro v-6, and even that was with an intake and exhaust?

I feel like there are a lot of non-owners chiming in on this debate in here which is where threads lose credibility. Regardless, I 'm gonna chime in again and just make my point:

For DRIVING experience, if I had to choose between the two cars, even as a proud 1SS/RS owner and haven driven a 1LT and 2LT Camaro virtually brand new last summer from Avis for about a month prior to purchasing my 1SS & test driving a Mustang 2 weeks ago, I'd have to say drumroll....

1. Ford Mustang V6
2. Camaro V6

AND if you have to add the Genesis Coupe into the equation and Dodge Challenger SE..

1. Genesis Coupe
2. Mustang
3. Camaro
4. Challenger

Simply put on driving alone, the Mustang just "FEELS" better behind the wheel. It feels more peppy and easier to control COMPARED to the Camaro but then when compared to the Genesis Coupe, the Mustang doesn't feel as nimble. The Challenger is like every Dodge I've driven from 300 to Charger... boat like feeling but smooth.

The Camaro whether you want to admit it or not has a weird field behind the steering wheel and sometimes just doesn't feel as fast as it reads. A part of that can be attributed to driving position but in my case even at 5'9, I'm forced to jack the seat up so I can get better visibilty in the car which I don't have to do in ANY other. Because of that, you always feel like your driving to "PROTECT" the car from blindspots rather than driving to DRIVE the car.

On exterior looks alone, I'd take any RS packaged Camaro LT or SS over anything any of these competitors have to offer. Cartoonish or not, it looks good, end of story. Now non RS packaged Camaro's look... OK but RS/SS is like PERFECTION period. You may think it's subtle but when you put both of them next to each other, you know right away.

So all the LT owners will likely need to well trick your car out, throw some rims, do whatever you got to do to make it stand out but in the end, RS/SS is an unbeatable combination in the looks department.

Now before I completely jump off topic.... Mustang is an ok car, but too many on the road, don't feel special, looks are sorta bland because there are just so many of them and they all look the same to me.

Camaro's always got that "DAMN that car is hot" look everytime you see one or when you drive it, heads ALWAYS turn. I can't EVER remember someone on the street going "WOAH look at that Ford Mustang..."

NEVER.

Camaro wins but only barely.

So the Camaro runs $535 more.

If the dealers hold to the price ford will do ok. From my experience I expect a number greater then msrp from ford.

For a bit... just like with every other new, good car that comes out. If there is a large demand, dealers will jack up the price for a bit. That's to be expected with every new performance car worth a damn. It sure as hell happened with the camaro and still is.

Are we talking 2011 base price, because the chevy site has this posted.

2010 Camaro
MSRP(1): Starting at
$22,680

That puts the Camaro 315 less than the stang.
