I'm considering getting a 4-banger just to save on gas, but that would take the fun out of daily driving Rather just drive my v8 into the dirt, then keep it parked and drive a beater.

My computer is saying I'm hitting 14.2mpg, but it's BS. I've started an experiment this week of filling up each day with $15 at around 10am~, and only driving where I have to (Campus, groceries, library -- I love about two miles or so away from all these installations) and every single day I run out of gas by the time I wake up at 530am and get to PT...

But I guess tapshifting and driving around in high rpm to just accelerate for fun doesn't help
That is my problem as well. So fun though!

A general rule of thumb is for every .1, or tenth you get your 60ft down, your 1/4 mile will go down by around .2, 2 tenths. That is just a general rule.

The first 60ft is usually the most important part of getting a good time.

Although I do have to laugh and share this personal story. When I was 19 I bought a 2002 GSX-R1000. I had spent plenty of time at the track with my mustang but never on a bike. My first run down the 1/4 on my bike was a 10.77 @ 128 mph with a 2.7 60ft time. I laughed my ass off at the 60ft time and 1/4 time. I mean it took me 2.7 seconds to go the first 60ft but the next 1260 feet happened in 8.07 seconds.

Sadly I am not in the position to really drive my Mustang. I don't even have insurance on her now. :(. She sits at my parent's house in my dad's shop. She only has about 8,500 miles on her and she is a 2000 though. I know, I know cars are meant to be driven. I just have bad type A with my girl. I will have to get some pictures to show y'all the odo, because I honestly wouldn't believe she only had that many miles on her if someone told me on a forum.

My dream is to buy a 04 Cobra one day (don't tell anyone, I'm a mustang hater round here) and park her in my garage and never move her.

I just wanna say I have a cobra. Names just so damn badass. lol.

There were some sick sport bikes at the track today. One of them ran an 8.02. Also there was like a 10 year old kid in what looked like a mini top fuel dragster. That little guy ran an 8.5. I would have crapped my pants going that fast at his age!

Saw a Nissan GT-R there tonight too. Nice looking car but he only ran a 14 second quarter the one time I saw it. That should be much faster.

Don't ya mean 4.9? I had a 5.9L Ram that got about 9-10mpg on the highway. At the height of $5/gal gas, I didn't own that thing for very long.

Because he would've fried his $20,000 transmission haha.

I seriously respect the sport bike guys that are good on a bike. Getting good times out of a bike are much more about skill than a car. By the time I sold my GSX-R1000 I was getting decent. I was in the low to mid 9s at about 151mph.

And yes those junior dragsters are cool as hell.

That is a sad time for a GT-R.

Wish I had raced against him. Would have been cool to be able to say I beat a GT-R
I did beat 2 different Mustang GT convertables. Both of them looked like they missed a gear though.
