Also sometime I'm not paying attention and will speed during that section even though I know he is usually there and my detector will wake me up from my comute trance and save me
You can mark that position to prevent the unit from not alarming. So if he is there it will go off.

None. I just keep a keen eye on my rear view more than I actually drive when I'm out driving. Plus I have the speed limit indicator on so I shouldnt have some need to be blazin 90+ on the 405 freeway.

I wIll be getting the 9500 xi
even though I have the V1 I get tired of putting up and taking it down. Don't like the wires.
So I am going to have the escort installed in front and rear bumper with the laser defuser. Very expensive but worth it to me

There are so many places now that have prohibited radar detectors and jammers it's become more akin to a ticking time bomb ready to go off. Hiding it could potentially make it worse if a patrolman pulls you over and decides to do a search and finds it. Good judgment and strong defensive driving discipline have served me perfectly fine over the years. If you really find yourself constantly cresting 10MPH over the speed limit you may want to either let cruise control take over a bit or drill a bit more discipline into yourself. Or just pay off your tickets/points as you rack em up. Starting to really see a much greater influx of highway patrolman out and about in around CA, NM, AZ, and ESPECIALLY TX. Also hearing from friends who are starting to see an increase in tickets that their general speed spread is starting to decrease a bit.

I'm used to California which has it that it's illegal to use them in a crime. Which depending on the CHP officer, technically breaking the speed limit is a crime and can also be considered "an exhibition of speed/reckless driving" which can get jail time. Not to mention the usual public endangerment if you decide you wanna do it with others about. (When in California are there NOT others about?) Really it's just easier to just keep the speed freaking reasonable and not have to worry that the patrolman pulling you over is ate-up and hook you up with all the extras because he can. Most will just give a warning but I personally prefer to not push my luck. I'll leave my speeding on the track or for Armageddon. The average speed has increased a bit from when I was a little kid riding around in my parent's car to now. A few states have already hit the 75MPH limit in some of their more rural/interstate sections and I've even seen a couple 80MPH sections as well.
