They also have alot of 2010's to get off the lots before 2011's start showing up. The Mustang inventory is very high of unsold cars right now.

Their are a very few 2011's that made it to the dealers before the hold (On sale date was April 17). Some Rental Car Agencies also have 2011 V6 Convetibles already. Easy to spot with the dual exhaust.

Hey Gene, have a qustion for ya! I notice ou went with the 3.55s instead of the 3.73s or 3.31s, just wondering if that is just to get the best gas mileage/performance compromise or do you think the 3.55s would be a better choice for performance?

Ford to idle two plants due to Iceland’s volcanic interuptions
04/22/2010, By Mark Kleis Ford is the latest automaker to announce the need to idle some of its facilities as a result of the massive plumes of smoke and ash currently residing in the European airways as a result of an Icelandic volcano. Ford says it will idle two assembly plants in Michigan, responsible for the Mustang and Focus models. According to a report by Click on Detroit news, Ford will idle the Flat Rock and Wayne assembly plants as a result of a parts shortage caused by the restricted air travel in Europe. Ford says the Wayne assembly plant had previously been scheduled for a one week shut down in early May, which will now be rescheduled for next week due to the parts shortage from Europe. The Flat Rock assembly plant, which is a joint venture with Mazda, did not have planned idle time prior to the parts shortage. Due to the continued air restriction in Europe, however, Ford and Mazda will temporarily idle the plant during Wednesday and Thursday next week. Ford is only the latest automaker affected by the ash clouds, joining both BMW and Nissan. http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-to-...eruptions.html

Regarding the 2011 Mustang, I can't deny that it's a beast from the factory. I think it's looks good, sounds good, and will probably run real good. It's probably faster on an average basis than the 2010-2011 SS. Of course, some drivers would prove otherwise. But the Mustang does seem to have a pretty decent intake and exhaust system compared to the stock SS. If Chevy made the SS stock with headers, more of free-flowing exhaust, and an actual CAI, and a better tune, considering headers are involved, the stock flywheel numbers of the SS would be above 445 hp. That's very conservative too. Not too bad. |

You really want to make power you go with Kenne Bell or whipple for the 5.4s. I would prefer kenne bell. And if ford gave the 5.0, 1.2 more liters, it would probably make a very conservative 480hp. All we can go off is what the cars come from the factory with. Once modding starts all bets are off. |

Anyone notice that Kenne Bell has something listed in thier inventory for the 2010 Camaro? Does it happen to be a S/C?

Apparently at Ford's in house development house the 5.0, in some configurations, is making around 470 HP. Thats from a Ford worder over on The Mustang Source. |

Sure is...not to hijack this thread, but I found this link quite interesting.
Anyone hear of them coming out, or are they still pending? Wow...they claim a + 174HP and 133 FT LBS TORQUE at the wheels with no other mods...Holy cheap s**t, mano! ![]() http://www.kennebell.net/supercharge...aro/Camaro.htm

The arguments about if GM put this on the camaro stock or if Ford had this stock are retarded. We can bench race the cars in stock form against each other. And then once modding starts it basically boils down to who has the deeper pockets. And yes I did read that the 5.0 was putting out 470hp in some configurations. The sad thing is that I have had people look me in the eyes and honestly believe, what they are saying, when they tell me you will not see a 450hp NA 5.0. |

I'm not knocking the 5.0. I don't know how else to say it's a wonderful engine. I was responding to someone else's point. And I think my original point was logical. Re-read it and the post I quoted if you are interested. |

Some pretty good discussion going on. I will say what tipped me towards the Camaro was the detuned nature of the 6.2. I personally believe the Coyote (5.0) is pretty much at it's limit in N/A form from the factory. Bolt on per bolt on will produce much less results than the 6.2. I don't plan on going F/I so this is a big deal for me.
Intake Cam Ported heads Exhaust = 500WHP on the 6.2 and for a reasonable price. Not going to get that with the 5.0 period. Take the ~200lbs. weight advantage of the Mustang and pencil through it. Not gonna matter. Bolt on vs. bolt on the Camaro will own. F/I may prove to be a closer match. Time will tell. |
