I am wondering how some of the Modded V6 guys did going down to Camarofest. Hopefully they will report in and let us know. My average so far has been around 23 MPG and that also has a pretty low speed average MPH also. I usually have one high speed long highway run in my cars during the break in period, but this one doesn't look like it's going to get it due to my work schedule.

This morning on the way into work I did a highway test of MPG. I commute 35 miles each way. The first 5 miles and the last 5 miles is non highway. Once I got on the highway I set the cruise to 70 MPH and re-set the trip 2, the avg. MPG, and avg. speed. Just as I entered the off ramp I took the cruise off and recorded the numbers.

More info:
Outside temp. was 39 degrees. This past weekend I changed the oil to Mobil 1 and added the MRT 2.0 exhaust. Camaro has 900 miles.

Test results:

25 miles traveled

70 MPH

28 MPG

To say the least I am with those kind of numbers for my into work commute MPG. To have this kind of fun factor car and those numbers is a bonus in my book.

I've been averaging 20.2 all city. When I get on the highway I usually see around 27, and I've seen as good as 31.5. Went to Missouri once and averaged 29.

Well during this past weekend I traveled about 550 miles 98% of the driving was done on highway. I was going about 75-80 for a majority of the trip, some areas at 65. I got an avg of 23mpg.

It looks like after 2000 miles and on a flat interstate the adv at 70 mph will be around 25mpg, and that is no winds....kinda happy with that (if I may say so)

I got 29.7 from Valdosta GA to Lansing MI. I ran premium and pulled the 5 and 20 fuse to reset the ecm. Once in town, It dropped right away, especially after a littler showboating. I'm at 28.3 from my fill up in Ohio. I'm happpy.

i noticed before i pushed the rest button fo the miles per gallon meter it was low and only would move in any direction very small amounts.
i rest the miles per gallon rest and it became much more responsive.
i fooled around and rest it and coasted for a mile or so and the millage was very high like 38mpg.
i also rest it and drove normal and got around 27.2 down to 24.1 .
so i wonder if some people who are not getting the milage they thought they would should they try to rest? or is reseting and driveing a short distance not accurate?
i drove it to and from work a total of 65 miles and it was 25.6 city highway and country roads.

Resetting frequently is not very accurate.
The reason it doesn't change much if not reset is that the average is accumulated over a longer period of time. So, if you average 16MPG but haven't reset for 1000 miles, then short term variations have a smaller impact on the average.

For example, if you then do 10 miles on the highway, getting 25MPG, your overall average changes very little. Your overall average in that case only goes to 16.05 MPG. If you had reset, it would appear that you are getting 25MPG (which you are, but it does not represent your typical average).
