OP sorry to hear about it, at least you got them "fixed". In many other places people can't consider themselves that lucky. I'd personally rather pay a 300 dollar fine with no points instead of a 50 dollar fine with points! *shakes fist at insurance companies*

Did he have any sort of speed measuring device on at the time? If not, there should be no way he could have gotten you for that 15 over and might have been thrown out. I think you prob did the best thing though and avoided all the hassle of going to the court and all that other BS. Better luck next time!

Luckily my lawyers know more about case law than cops do.

You're missing the point of his post. He did *not* hit 70. That's the point he's trying to make. The cop says he was speeding, but he was not. Why do so many people have trouble with that little piece of reading comprehension?

This is why I always take mine to a layer. *According to my driving record*, I've not had a ticket since 2003.....and that one was in another state when I was in the military.

According to my lawyer's file.....well that's a bit of a different story.

For some folks, adding insult to injury is the high point of their day...

If I've had an attitude, I truly apologize, but it was kind of aggravating, and I got all of 9 replies before some jerktard started riding me.

So you add that onto the already THRILLING experience with the cop and tell me you wouldn't be a little edgy too.

And I don't know how many times I've had to repeat the fact that I wasn't speeding. And he all but told me he knew it. I have NEVER been ANYTHING other than polite to cops, and it's never gotten me a bit of slack, and I've never complained about that. But I wasn't even impolite to this guy and he "upped" it. (which, like I said, ironically it's a bigger fine but in the end easier to have fixed so he almost did me a favor, but he was VERY clear that wasn't his aim.)

Like I said, in NO MORE than 1/4 mile he had time to turn around at the light where I got ON the highway, and roll up to the light, right as I was rolling up to the light.

I honestly think the reason he rolled up in the lane to my left was because he honestly didn't expect it to be me.

And if speeding for 1/100th of a second is something you think we should be punishing people for...enjoy your police state. Used to be we made laws to protect people, not to enforce for the hell of it.

You have. But it's been much less in this thread than in others.

You can be kind of an a-hole. I should know...we smell our own.

When I hear all these people saying "oh it is the law you need to obey it. What are you stupid?" I get ticked off. They have nothing to say, so they stand behind something strong. The Law. I mean really though, you can't fight it. The Law is strong. Stupid internet bullies try to use the Law as a shield they can hide behind and still do their chastising of fellow C5'ers. Quit hating on the guy. Everybody likes to drive with a little more loud pedal every now and then
