Good thing I own both, a 2005 STi and a 1994 V8 Camaro.

Stock Vs. Stock, the STi will hand it its ass. Period.

Take my word for it. Ya think I never had my wife drive the Camaro while I drove the STi (when both were stock...) to see which one was faster?

We have the best of both worlds at my house--My 02 Z and the little woman's 09 Impresa. Her's isn't particularly fast (non turbo model), but it's easy to work on, handles great, and isn't fazed by snow. Great little cars.

But my Z is better

I bought my STi new in 05 and while it was an AWD rocket it just really didn't have the cool factor on my current 96 SS and at 1/10th the price I spent on the STi, no contest whatsoever! lol. It was fast off the launch but tires just hooked up and go banging through the gears. I can't describe it, maybe I just like the sound of the LT1 and the ability to screech rubber and the way the Camaro seems to just "settle down" up higher speeds. I also didn't care for the way the interior even with tinted windows on the Subaru faded quickly. I also had issues with breaking welds on the shock mounts repeatedly, a problem I've never once had on the Camaro and I drive the same roads, the same way so I'd suspect design. It'd be no contest for bad weather though, ice, snow etc. Leaving the Camaro parked in the garage.

Again the fallacy of Appeal To Widespread Belief with no proof. It is not I who needs to research the proof of your statement.

I know of very we people that respect a WRX.

Ya they are fast, they handle well, they are reliable BUT they look ridicules. No one can possible take you serious unless they are some F&F ricer themselves.

I dont care if they run 9's stock, they dont have the feel.

When I drive my car I feel like bad ass. My car has personality. When I drove my buddies WRX I felt goofy as hell. Turbo spool this, awd that, bla bla bla.

Just because something has great numbers on paper doesnt mean its not a turd.

My bone stock '97 LT1 ran dead even from 0-70 with several "99 Ls1 Z28 SS's.
I had the A4 with 3:23 gears. The Ls1 would slowly start to pull away at 70.

Piece of Crap Huh.

So did mine. And with no more than a few bolt-ons, it would run side by side with an LS1 on any day of the week; exhaust, cai, and good pcm tune.
