I'm still interested. Would prefer one of the Monday dates so I could drive up Sunday afternoon and spend the night up there.

If you look into going to their other courses it will cost way more and you probably won't be driving your own car. Heinzd asked about what cars we would be driving. Can we assume all the track time is in our camaros?

I still have some interest but right now my mind is on Camaro5 Fest.

I had checked with my insurance agent about this and it sounds like I would be covered if this is more considered driver training. I would not be covered if it is any kind of racing.

I am interested but I haven't posted because my work schedule is ever-changing. :(

The Mid-Ohio program looks like one of the best ways to really get to know the handling characteristics of the Camaro. It would be a great way to prioritize which suspension mods I would want to put on mine. I don't like just throwing money at my cars.

If were just me following the instructor and nobody else on track I'd be in with you right now. No way I can trust another rookie in front or in back of me. Sorry but this is when stupid stuff happens.

I might be interested, depending on a couple of things:
1) The date. We have a couple of trips already planned this summer.
2) My husband would like to participate if older F-bodies are welcome (he has a heavily-modified, '79 T/A). This also depends on if he can borrow a trailer, since his T/A gets about 4mpg and requires racing fuel - not too practical to drive up there from Dayton.
3) Almost goes without saying, but there was a question above as to whether the track time is in our own cars?

I haven't discussed with him at any length, since we don't know the date, nor if he can get a trailer. But if we can get an idea of when this would happen, we can check into that.

Thanks for looking into this!

Let me know your thoughts & interests please.

I have the following dates available in September:

Thursday, September 9th

Monday, September 13th

Tuesday, September 14th

Monday, September 20th

The cost of the program is $395 per person. We would need a minimum of 20 participants. It does not need to be a Camaro exclusive event. Cars need to be street legal and convertibles require a roll bar that extends above the height of the helmet.
I will follow up with you next week.

Thanks,

Chris Binkley

I put the information from his Mid-Ohio contact in bold. Bring your own car, or in your case, multiple cars

EdRedCamaro......Thanks for updated that for me. I agree about through money away at something that might not be needed. If you can't push the stock suspension to it's limit under controlled conditions, then you are highly unlikely to do so on the street. It's nice to know the limits.

Earliest Memory......as far as the 79 T/A....it sounds like it is set up for drag racing and not road course driving. If I am wrong, then he can bring it. But it is meant for all power, then it won't be very much fun on the road course and could be more dangerous to the other participants. Only you guys now what best suites that car, judge wisely.

Pedders and Back Street Performance are always interested in track day sessions. A school at Mid Ohio would be a great event for most Camaro owners. Open track time is great, but most people learn an ERNOMOUS amount from just a bit of instruction from a qualified professional. Let me know if we can help you get a track date going.

I talked with my friend at Mid Ohio last November to get some testing done will the weather was still desent. At that we also talked about putting a school together. But we need to make sure there is anough interest. I know someone else on this site has been tring to put a track day together. I will call Dave tomorrow and see if he still has some dates open.

The only one on this site that has been trying to put something like this together at Mid-Ohio is me.

Date & Event Update

I have been talking to Rich from Back Street Performance. They want to help make this happen and be involved. They also are looking into possibly having some "suspension experts" there as well. I don't want to say who or for sure until it is set.

Also the date we are shooting for is a MONDAY, Sept 13th. This would work out well since it follows the camaro show at Summit Racing that weekend, from what I understand.
