I have the 1SS. If I could do it again, I would go with the 2SS in a heartbeat. The 2SS's leather seats are built better than the 1SS's seats. They are more comfortable and they don't have the annoying side-to-side rocking tendencies of the lightweight cloth seats.
That's a big deal to me. I weigh 165 lbs, so I'm not big enough to cause the cloth seats to rock around as I drive. They just do it because of their design. I've asked the service department at the dealer what was up and they said it was normal. Also, if you're going to add power mods, it's nice to be able to keep an eye on oil temp. So the 2SS's extra guage cluster is a good thing. But, if you want to save a few grand and use that money for mods, and you don't mind cloth seats that rock side-to-side when you turn, then get the 1SS. It's still a very nice car and very fun to drive. |

Dealer installed accessories
4 pack gauges - you can be install yourself and are plug and play. PDIM - you can install yourself but requires the radio be programmed by a dealer Steering wheel controls - you can install yourself but requires the BCM to be programmed by a dealer

I live in an area that sees many +100 degree F days. And I can say that cloth interior gets very hot from the sun and does not cool down as fast as leather seats. At least that's my experience with the 1SS. I was surprised by this result, btw.

I beg to disagree about the seats. The cloth is already holding up better than the leather. There have been complaints about some leather seats looking bad already. Leather creases and looks worn after less than 50k miles. Cloth all the way. Get the 1SS and add supercharger. For less than $40K you can have a car with over 500 rwhp!

To the OP... Great choice in the 1SS. can save alot of money on the initial purchase and put it towards parts. I did exactly that. To date I have done painted stripes,Hurst shifter,4 pack gauges,Loudmouth IIs,Cold Air Induction intake, and have an appointment for headers and a custom tune in June.

maybe its just my 1SS but I have absolutely NO side to side. I would try driving another 1SS because the dealers "thats normal" is BS, and after having several GM leather vehicles I LOVE the cloth.

I also love my 1SS, and do not have the "side to side" seats. Maybe that was an add-on. Doh!

It is not the cool down part for me. It is the initial sitting down where I don't like the leather. I am a bit heavier than you and never noticed the rocking. Seats have been very supportive when driving hard.

I, on the other hand, do have personal knowledge. And I'm not sure what I would have to gain by making up such a claim. |
