Red face Not necessarily broken, but MISSING!

Hi All,

Just bought my LS on Saturday! Was so excited to get a new car. But then I get home (2 hours from the dealership) look under the hood and what do I find? The Oil Fill Cap was missing! WTF? I called a dealer that was in town and they said they had to order it. They also weren't sure if it was covered under warranty.

NOT COVERED? What do you mean?
"well, since the part is missing and not broken..."

...So if I bought a car with a missing engine it wouldn't be covered???

Finally they decided to cover it, but then asked...

"are you going to install it or do you want us to?"
I said that I didn't care because anyone can screw on an oil cap, however...

"well, if a certified GM mechanic doesn't install it, it won't be covered under warranty"
WHATEVER! have your mechanic screw the cap on. I don't really care. As long as it gets on there.

What's next? Will the warranty be voided if a certified GM Mechanic doesn't pump your gas? jeesh.
well neways, not broken, just a missing oil cap. Luckily the oil hadn't spilled out at all - that I can tell. Now what do you think of them apples?

Wow!

I'd insist those clowns change the oil & filter while they're at it. After a 2 hour drive home......no telling how much grit/dust/crap got sucked into the crankcase.

I blew the fuse to my accessory outlet (Cigarette lighter). You have to pull off the panel on the left side of the dash to get to the fuse box.

Well from like day 2 of owning the car the clutch sticks sometimes. The pedal doesn't depress all the way and stops right when the clutch disengages. Not really a problem but cruise doesn't work since it thinks the clutch is pushed in and it makes the clutch shorter since its' pressed in. I took it to the dealer a few days later and they couldn't duplicate the issue. It happens now and then but not as bad as it was.

My traction control button is all messed up. Doesn't work properly on switching between the settings. They called me on Monday saying they got the part in so I will probably take it in next week to have it replaced.

Toyota keeps on promoting it over and over. I don't understand why GM strikes while the iron is hot ! I like having a car that is not common, but come on GM your in business to make money aren't you ??
Government Motors. When has the government ever run anything NOT into the ground?

Went over 10K yesterday...no problems at all, however, I did replace the stock airbox with a roto-fab unit back in Nov. and it has run much better since!

5200 miles and not a single issue. This is a great design, and it is well built. Thanks to all the great folks at GM.
