YA CANT bc they both arent out yet! so y the F would you sit on a camaro forum trying to respond to car and driver articles and bicker about y its not true and that there are other elements involved to y the mustang ran slower than it should.

the ET for a 2011 mustang is garbage!! THE REASON FOR MY POST for illiterate mustang owners like U is bc MANY camaros where i live got high 12s bone stock and 2010 mustangs on the same tracks did not get near a 13.0 makes a mustang inferior!
SO Y WOULD ford make their new 2011 mustang just as slow!! low 13s is just garbage!! Thats all it boils down too. I was saying y the F*** are stupid a** people like u on a camaro forum anyway! And sitting on here trying to justify an article of a car that isnt even out yet. You and ur mustang suck at LIFE!!
and to add... I guess L99 Camaro's are garbage too... hmmm, that's news to me. That's pretty harsh, they aren't complete dogs, i thought they were pretty decent

And, on a side note, I think it's stupid that they round their track times. They should post their 60 ft. times and shift points too.
I want to see the full read outs also. 60ft, 330ft, 660ft, 1000ft, 1320ft, and the mphs for the 1/8 and quarter. Shifting points would be nice also.

I am guessing our chances of seeing these are close to zero, eh? Kind of disappointing, I think.

Yea I would say the chances of seeing the full time slip from the major car mags are next to none.

At least when Evan Smith writes the article on the test of the 2011 GT he will tell you basically how he launched, more than likely where he shifted, and he will post 60ft times.

60ft times are critical. Even if the mags don't want to show the full time slip at least give us the 60ft.

Now we wait for his numbers. I wish he'd at least give us an idea about when we'll see them.

No im not bashing any 2010s was just makin opinions. I was stating that bc y would ford come out with a 2011 model right after the camaro that runs 13.1 and only have it at 13.3s? it just seems like they dropped the ball on that one is all i was saying.

anywho, do you have any video of all these stock Camaros in the 12's??? im not saying it aint possible but its not THAT common either. Theres how many thousands of members here and its been done 8 times.
Just so everyone knows, I deleted the post that this post was a reply to. However, The Evil Twin does make a fairly good point here so I left it so that the discussion can be continued.

Also, this is the only public warning I will give. Keep the discussion respectful. The next time a moderator needs to delete or edit posts here, the thread will be closed.

I know MotorTrend got a 12.9 out of it in the video of the drag against a GT500.
I don't know how valid your argument about the number of members on this site. Many never post at all. And not all that do post take their cars to a strip.
You and I both know that the Camaro SS is capable of 12's and it will only become more common as the engines break in. That's just fact.
But I do agree that for your average driver breaking 13 will be no walk in the park.

It was a 12.9 in the race against the GT500. The GT500 run the 12.8.

I do agree they are 12 second cars if driven properly.

Why is everyone so fixated on how fast another car is? Anyone who races is gonna mod their car (if they expect to win). You guys are doing the same thing Challenger owners did a year ago. These kind of threads make you sound desperate and worried. Why worry? Enjoy your car and remember: That car next to you may not be what it appears to be.

I don't really see the issue looking again, the mustang has so far run times ranging from 12.7-13.3, which is both faster then the camaro's fastest mag time (12.9) and faster then the camaro's slowest mag time (13.4)

12.7-13.3 > 12.9-13.4

Very true, but the 2010 mustang is a drivers race with an auto camaro. However, they needed something to come out and compete with the ls3 a bit better, and with that they got the 5.0, which has run 12.7.

And I'll add to your statement that it usually isn't. My car appears like a stock 2010 GT500.
