Well, most magazines come out with an issue a month ahead. This video is probably from their July issue that hits early May. Or even april.

MotorTrend is full of shit now. I mean for best driver's car last year, they put a frikin Mazda Miata in 3rd place!!!!! 3rd place!!!!!! and the corvette ZR1 was in 6th!!! the ZR1 was 3 seconds faster than any other car there!!!! I dont pay attention to Motortrend anymore. Their journalists are full of crap IMO, just like every other magazine.

The Miata has been considered a true driver's car for quite awhile. Is it as fast as a ZR1, no. But does that necessarily mean it's less of a driver's car? No. Hate to burst your bubble on that one, and although I would never own a Miata, and would kill for either ZR1, in a driver's world, the Miata will always rank pretty high.

Look at it like this. In the 80's and 90's the Camaro was rated better for specs, as in power and the numbers it was pushing compared to the Mustang. The Mustang sold better, way better, because it was a sexier car. Today the Camaro is a much sexier car. I do give it to Ford that the Mustang's have a billion different combinations to help tailer them to specific people, but over all, the Camaro is sexier. And I am a huge Mustang fan, just not really a fan of them since the 04 and up models. Even the new models I think are kind of ugly and looks like a kid's car. The Camaro is mean looking and is very sexy.

I still don't understand why they are comparing the SRT-8 with a Mustang GT and Camaro SS.

Theoretically speaking, the SRT-8 should be compared to the GT-500, and the mythical Z-28.

They should be comparing the Mustang GT, the Camaro SS, and the Challenger R/T.

Ummm for the 12k difference with the SRT, both the Camaro and Mustang can be made to dominate with 12k mods.

To be honest, the only reason they did the SRT-8 was because people cried "foul" because the Camaro had so much more HP than the R/T. But everybody here is absolutely right, the SRT8 should be compared against the GT500 and Z28 (if it existed)

Anyways - I do hope GM has something in the pipeline and I'm sure Camaro will be back on top very soon.

I agree, though, that the newness, I think, has washed away, so now, it's going to be down to what the Average Joe thinks about the cars. I think all the complaining about the windows is a bit over-stated; it helps give the car a more unique style, that I think the Mustang has. I think it'll boil down to how much that style weighs in comparison to practicalilty.

The 5th Gen. is a totally different car than the 4th was, and I think it's better equipped to battle the Mustang than it has been for a long time. Performance aside, I think it's going to be a better match-up sales-wise.
